No experience. Just interested to see what everyone else says!

 

The limbs are actually called Sinusoid after the trigonometric function (often referred to as sine). I am not sure why they are names as such. The limbs did not look like a sine wave.

 

No experience but it seems that Black Swan has a similar limb available. Also wasn't Dryad producing or at least researching such a limb a number of years ago? But don't don't quote me on that last one. I may not be remembering correctly.

The Black Swan "wave" limb has a serious curve:

It looks like there is a LB and Recurve version of the Sinusoid limbs.

 

I believe Dickie Roberts and Bud Hitt were building these curves back in 70 something.
Although i don't recall the top & btm limbs being different lengths.

 

Bill Stewart and his brothers were building those curves in the 1960's, and Bill took that design to every bow company he worked at after that. When he retired from Bear, he came back to Yakima and he built them again until his death. I provided him with his supplies.

 

I wonder what the DFC looks like for such a bow.

 

When that sort of curve is applied to a recurve, it provides torsional stability because of the resistance to twisting in the center of an arc. For a longbow, it provides not much of anything of value. Some people thought they pulled smoothly and shot nice. Over a chronograph they never showed much as far as speed goes. Now, with engineered woven's, a stable recurve limb is simple to do in a standard form.

 

The limbs say sinus on them. Sinus. I get that it's mathematically derived, but sinus? Gives me allergies just thinking about it.

 

I see it now that there is a picture of the unstrung limbs, but, it looks more like a cosine than a sine since the wave starts at maximum amplitude when measured from the riser. They should more rightly be called Cosinusoid.

 

I have a set of Sunisoid limbs. I am very happy with them, and have been shooting them on my hunting rig for some time. They seem quite fast, and are very quiet. They are stable and vibrationfree.
They seem to favor a little heavier arrows than my Uukha's
