I'd shoot .500's at that weight.

Actually, I shoot 50 at 29 and one of my setups is .620. I do have to tweak things.

To answer your question, the .400's would "work better." IMO both may be too stiff.

 

I have a Chinook 47# @ 28" and it shoots 300 spine FMJ dead straight. 585gr at 161fps.

I have almost the same setup (mine is 46@28 and I draw 29.5) and use .400s and .500s. I can get both to tune with different point weights. If you are going heavy (200 to 300gr), go with .400s. Lighter points (125 to 175gr) go with .500s.
