What was your score a year ago?

My average for the blue target at 20yds is around 280 with my personal best being a 290 (my avatar was my best score at 20yds). Keep in mind that these are not in competition. I would probably not do so well under the pressure.

I was scoring in the 130/s last year at this time. So I think I have improved quite a bit. 280 with a traditional bow is crazy good.

 

NICE going lawman. I have targets, I need to do some of that this spring.

Last 3 practice rounds with Omega longbow. Normally an elevated rest is good for about 10 more points with a Traditional class bow. Nfaa/Tfaa puts all my GameDay scores up for the world to look at.

I am shooting 2 rounds for the sywat series tommorow.

 

I got a long way to obtain scores like that. Great shooting for sure 👍

I never really shoot the blue face until I go to Nfaa indoor nationals. For 2022 Indoor Nats I shot a 275 first round and a 281 second round. For 2023 Indoor Nats I shot a 280 first and a 285 second. The few practice rounds I have shot are well into the 290’s. This is barebow recurve.

 

When people talk about their 300 score, I’m never quite sure if they’re talking about the NFAA blue 40cm target or the WA 40cm target. People will say Things like, “I went from 230‘s to the 250’s this year”. So is there a universal 300 standard? Or are people talking about different scoring on different targets?

 

I agree, people should clarify blue face or fita face.

 

last time I shot 300 on my blue face it was FAIRLY disheartening. I honestly forget the score. really. but the range of it was barely 200+.

 

My scores for the nfaa blue face over the years have been up and down, 235-274.
Past year my focus is on form based and not score driven. So my shot might be a 4 but with good form and follow through it’s still a good shot.

yes Vegas/Fitta face is a less forgiving spot in my opinion. Even tho all score rings are the same size, the fitta face splits the rings to 10 scoring rings from the 5 nfaa rings.

Scores with my hunting bow (Morrison 62" phenolic Max 6) are consistent 250's, either face, off the shelf - barebow rig is consistent 270's on the blue face.

 

wouldnt it be easier to go to a range and look at the targets?

 

Vegas face:
Personal best in competition 277 shooting trad. 2016
This year (remember TP), in practice this week shooting BBR I shot a 273 with two in the blue.
Blue Face:
Personal best in competition is a 286 with 23X. Last two ends were not pretty. Also back in 2015/16, won’t count my 293 as it was league.

This year: league 278 15x. Coming along nicely controlling TP.
Had pneumonia the last two weeks so not much practicing till the last few days.
Going to shoot BBR Saturday and then put them away till after Vegas.

My highest scores were with horrible TP, locked high and shot on the move. It was a miserable way to shoot but when I got the rhythm just right the scores would happen.
The only thing I wish I had back from that era was 24/7 access to an indoor range and regular league events. But that actual shooting itself no thanks.

 

Those were good days. I still have my own indoor range but it’s not the same as line time in competition.

 

Here are the results in the NW Sectionals in 2022. I participated in it and shot a 276 on day one and 292 on day two. Big swing between the two days. Other scores are listed for you to see as well.
