this goes from measuring the nock point from a t square. If you ae shooting off the shelf where do you measure your half inch high starting point? from the bottom of square touching shelf or the middle of it? i see to 0 marks at the top and bottom of my t and im a bit confused.

It probably depends on the length of your bow, and possibly, if you are shooting with a rest of off the shelf. I used the Tuning for 10's approach to set my nock height. I was surprised when it came out as 13/16th. I did some research and found that 3/4 is pretty standard for 3 under. I got this from John Magera which I verified doing some on line searches. John is a traditional archer who crossed over and made the Olympic team a few years back. Maybe that 3/4 is for longer FITA style barebows. It is measured from the line that is at rest, or shelf level. The diameter of the arrow is include in the number so the center line of a fat arrow will be lower than the center line of a skinny arrow. My 13/16 is with skinny Victory VAP.

This has likely already been mentioned to you, but use a second nock locator positioned below you nock point to ensure the arrow doesn't slide down the string when released. If it does, you'll never get rid of a nock high flight. You can use masking tape to make a temporary locator.

With a bare shaft you want to chase the nock set same direction of the arrow nock. The above picture is my daughter's Bare bow after she bare shaft tuned. We made measurement for reference. Also great way to check bow straightness and tiller.

Yes, if the unfletched shaft impact above the identically aimed fletched shafts, move the nocking point up on the string until both fletched and unfletched shafts strike at the same elevation. Do not confuse with point of impact. All your requiring here is to get both shafts to impact together or may be bare shaft slightly low and slightly left (stiff) From fletched shaft. Start about 1/2'' above 90 degrees.

Also, you can get fooled by the way the arrow impact in target. Best use a target with layering. Vertical laying for nock set and horizontally laying for center shot and spine. Joe P did a video about this on there.
