I understand using the arrow tip as an aim point for gap shooting, fix crawl, etc. So if I practice with a field point that is not the same length as my broadhead, doesn't that throw things off a bit?

Is there a rule of thumb regarding how much length cut off an arrow equals “x” amount of point weight reduction. Something like reducing arrow length by .25” is the same as reducing point weight by 25 grain? Totally just throwing that out as an example.

Hi, ( sorry for the spelling in this post, im from Denmark) I have an Tribute 19". when shooting it with an elevated rest my nockinpoint is fine. mayby 3 mm above. When shooting it of the shelf, I need to have an extreme high nockingpoint, 1/2" to 3/4" above.. I would consider my form as...

Setting up longbow and woodies up for longbow class for ibo shoot. Max is 25 yards. What would you setup your point on at? I’m set at 20 now but think I can make it a touch further back playing with dropping the nock a bit.

Hi all, Great site and there is a wealth of knowledge on here. I'm a newbie getting into archery. I have a 17inch junxing Pharos 2/F261/Optimus Riser - junxing limbs 45 Lb 60inch bow 28 inch draw 7.5 inches brace height. Shooting off shelf. My fixed crawl for 20 m seems really long see...

Nock Point, Tiller, and draw style... (ideas from the recent "string walking" thread) In the recent thread on string walking I asked a question about string walking pulling closer to the center of the string. I decided to start a new thread since it was veering off topic a bit. The comments...

I've been shooting the same .500 spine arrows indoors that I use outdoors for 3-D. The bows are different weights , 36# and 43#, but oddly they fly great from both bows. I did have to change the points from 125 gr 5/16" standard field point profile to 125 gr. 9/32" with bullet profile for indoor...

Because broadhead tipped arrows have a bigger cross-section than field point tipped arrows, I'm guessing that broadheads drift a bit more in a cross wind than field points. Any thoughts? Has anybody tested this?

So, I just picked up a Win and Win Black Wolf for my first ILF bow. 62", 45# limbs, actual draw length for me is 27.5", so a little less. Shooting off the shelf and using the supplied strike plate. Have not messed with tiller or limb alignment yet. Starting to feel like I jumped in the deep end...

My DAS Tribute with SF ULT Pro giving me 47# on the fingers. Carbon Express CXL 250’s with WAC Em broadhead, total arrow weight of 410 gr’s. Broke shoulder, took out both lungs and entered far side front leg, 5 inches hanging out. Yes broke the arrow!! Lol.

For those that string walk and use the string to eyebrow as a second reference point, what do you do on the longer crawls when the string angle changes and it doesn't touch the eyebrow anymore? I started playing with the eyebrow reference point and noticed that at 20 yards and closer the string...

I watched the video by Justin Ma provider by Scyth last week and made an interesting discovery. In the video Mr. Ma alludes to the fact that some people would draw Chinese war bows farther back than others because one person may have wide shoulders and short arms and another may be the complete...

My new set up is shooting good with 250gr. up front. Can I go with a 150 point with a 100 gr. insert as opposed to 225 point with a 20 grain insert ?? The reason I ask is that I have a ton of 150 points and broadheads and rather not spend more money on all new 225 points and broadheads if I can...

I'm in the process of bare shaft tuning and experimenting with point weight. My question is if you have a total of 250 grains up front, does it matter of you have a standard insert and 250 gr. point as compared to a 100 gr. brass insert and 150 gr. point ??

I was watching some WA barebow videos and saw where a couple of junior competitors were stringwalking but with a low or jawbone anchor point like Olympic archers. Both of the juniors were in the finals so they must of been having some success shooting that way. Has anyone tried using that...

so i have been wondering how many people change their anchor point on distance shots. for instance i shoot 3 under for all distances up to 25yds, with 3rd digit to incisor tooth (point on at 25 or stringwalk up close at 30yds i switch to split finger 3rd finger to eye tooth ( point on) at 40 the...

I have had extensive handgun training, not just practice or plinking but training with professional supervision. All types of handguns, triggers, grips, and sights. Now it is immaterial what type of handgun I use, I shoot them all to the same level. Now I am starting to get the same feeling...
