I have a custom cam Filson double Mac, Wilson wool shirts, a heavy merino wool pants, a variety of wool long john's, boots from Ely, Mn, a portable tent heater, a variety of things to block wind, and a warm merino wool blanket on my bed, in case it is so cold out, that pieces could freeze up and fall off of me.

Columbia Gallatin wool pants and coat. Got them discounted because they are discontinued.

Coldpruf wool base layers with whatever camo shirt I have over the top.

If it's really cold and windy I wear an extra lightweight base layer over the wool base.

I got rid of my Sitka whitetail jacket and bibs and went with the Drake hydrohush, I hated the gray and white camo pattern sitka puts out there for late season , they are just as warm and simply will not break the bank And above all whisper quiet……

I don't see these listed anymore but there are Drake Silecer bibs - full side zip.

For those browsing this thread, Nomad has had some great sales this season. Their Cottonwood series is worth a look as if the Conifer. I don't see how the Cottonwood and either a puffy or heated vest can't take you deep into the season. I think their Harvester suit is a super deal as well. Great all around suit that with proper layering you can get a lot of mileage out of but it's not the right suit for super cold weather.

I was seriously looking at these. I ended up grabbing a Kings set of bibs on a one day sale. Kings has consistently good reviews.
The thing I really wanted was the full leg zip + windproof. Walk in venting then zip up rather than packing in. Or vent if the day turns warmer on stand.

I bought cheap Berber Fleece pull overs at Walmart For $10 each. Used 2 to make a double layered vest. Cut the sleeves off one, sewed that vest inside the other. Added full length zippers to both. That gives me 4 layers on my core, one on my arms for non binding movement when drawing. Very warm and dead quiet

Update, I went with the Kings Wind Defender XKG on a nice sale price. I used it twice. It's windproof and very quiet. Customer service told me the cheaper hunter fleece one is even quieter (after I had already ordered) but I was fine with the XKG noise level.
The full length zips up and down the sides for ventilation work well.

I heard the Drake was silent and warm. I went with the Kings b/c the full length side zips on the bibs.
I bought a pullover wool jacket from Sleeping Indian last year and really like it. It’s a little a heavy compared to synthetics but it’s not shiny and so quiet it‘s worth the trade off to me. I wore it on almost every hunt once it dropped down into the 40s—-I just layer accordingly

Wool and more wool quiet, warm, and low odor. I love all my wool tops from Minus33 and its not crazy expensive - the expedition weight is super warm and good enough for Everest. I have a couple pairs of worsted wool pants - my Johnson Woolen Mills being the best - snag resistant and quite wind proof. The best designed piece of kit I have is the Sitka fanatic hoody that simply checks all the boxes and the only regret being I didn't buy it earlier. If it gets cold cold then I layer a down jacket or vest underneath.

I have wool for base and mid layers. The outer layers and the wind are the questions.
If the Johnson is wind proof that's great. I have vintage woolrich pants that are decently so, but not really when it comes down to it. After a few hours the difference between "cuts wind" and "windproof" adds up to me.
My Big Bill wool cargo pants do not cut wind much at all - great for everything else.
