Your feet will sweat in most any boots. Best bet is to wear thin polyester liner socks under your regular socks. Your feet and liner socks will be dry, but your outer wool boots will be wet. Works like magic. They're cheap, too, so no risk in trying them out. I have a dozen or more pairs.

I had a pair of Irish Setter Elk tracker boots that I wore only for hunting, so about four months a year, one or twice a week during that time and those boots lasted 12 years. So yes, they make great boots.

Lacrosse grange, rocky outbacks, old sneakers, and crocs are what I’m running. We have very different habitats to hunt in though. Camofire has good deals on boots all the time.
