Neoprene dive boots off Amazon. I use them with Neoprene socks, Gortex socks or hip waders. They are the best still-hunting/stalking boots I have found because they are very quiet and comfortable in the forest. I do not usually use them in mountainous rocky terrain but I have done it and survived. My ankles get tired if I wear them all day.
A LOT of guys run scuba shoes in the Everglades.

Before I got the Maine Hunting Shoes, I wore SealSkin waterproof socks and barefoot running shoes. Feet would get tired and was conscious of cacti.

Are they watertight with the hippers? Or do the hippers just prevent hitchhikers from entering the boots?
The Hippers are hip waders so they are fully waterproof. Mine are getting old so they leak but all I use them for is crossing streams so that's okay. The neoprene boots are tight enough that not much water gets inside. I ordered them two sizes larger than normal for proper fit with waders or thick socks. Unfortunately I don't think they sell Hippers anymore, not sure. But there are other stockingfoot waders you can buy then just roll them down and secure with a a velcro strap. Stockingfoot hip waders also work very well as rain paints then just roll them down when you don't need them.

I wear dryshod Arctic Storm high boots for most of hunting season. They are supposed to be good to -50.

I haven't been out hunting while it's still nice out before so not sure what I'll be wearing for bowhunting this year. I was just gunna wear sneakers but the ticks are really bad this year. I'll probably end up wearing regular rubber boots.
Spray your clothes with permethrin (all of ‘em, including socks and underwear.) Also, spray up inside your pants legs to the knee. No ticks. It’s harmless to mammals (and you, too! 😬

Permethrin is hard to get in Canada. The gubmint recommends it for anyone at risk of getting g Lyme disease, and its approved for use on military clothing. But its also illegal to import or manufacture permethrin or permethrin treated products in Canada.

Looks like its also approved for use on horses. I'm hoping I can get some of the horse permethrin at the local feed store but I'm not holding my breath

We have some very tall and clean straight up basswood trees in our woods. With my Widow maker climbing tree stands they were perfect, except once up there I had nothing to hold on to. one fellow built an illegal tree stand and got to it using lineman gear. He made a racket coming through the woods but was surprisingly efficient for getting up that tree.
Hope them mocs got nail soles, they can get mighty slick...
gum rubber patterned soles, but on dry oak leaves, i am the fastest down hill thing in the woods. I am much quieter when i don't fall down. not so much the thud of me hitting the ground, the volume comes from my operatic baritone tenor voice and the tirade of full volume cuss words when i am getting up.

I have a 25-year old ? I think - Danner set like Hawkeye II's and they are getting ragged. Real good. Got a similar set of RED WINGs8-10 years ago for backup and they are great TOO.
