Personally I'm rather fond of the Rambo series (except for 2, which was terrible) despite the compound and generally explosive/ridiculous nature of some of the archery.
I've heard "Hanna" had a few good archery scenes.

This one, though not technically a film, inspires me every time.

Well let's get this straight:) he starts off as a good guy then becomes a bad guy and then comes back to a good guy and his 5 minutes of recurve shooting he has is pretty tight.

For me nothing goes past the original 'Robin Hood', with Howard Hill as Captain of Archers, no special effects, real stunts with body shots from 75 lbs longbows, even the splitting of the arrow is genuine. But apparently the Brits are doing a film of Cornwell's 'Azincourt', which should be inspirational to those of us who like warbow.:)

I thought Hawkeye was a bloody awful archer. If you're going to throw that much money at CGI, you could surely spare a few dollars to make sure your archer character looks like he can shoot :)

(See http://www.wired.com/geekdad/2012/03/avengers-hawkeye-archery/ for a pretty good article on this).

As for inspirational movies, I can't think of one myself. Certainly we had a huge rush of juniors signing up at my old club when the LOTR movies came out, so they were inspiring for many.

Back in the 1980s there was a British TV series called Robin of Sherwood. Most of the archers in it were pretty bad, but one - Mark Ryan, who played a Saracen called Nasir - was clearly a brilliant and naturally talented archer. I suppose you could say he's been something of an inspiration to me.

Well.... Let me first say that I'm "all in" when it comes to proper coaching, good form etc. BUT Jeezzz Louise all this business about grip/thumb/arm/elbow/string and whatever! I don't think, for a microsecond that "archery" is being "hurt" in the slightest. It's just a movie.. Maybe not a good one, but if a kid is going to get involved in archery it's likely going to be through a club or maybe even a JOAD program and it's their they will get "the good stuff" with regard to proper form etc.....

Sometimes a frog is just a frog..... and not a prince! :)

remember Tom, ---- the frogs died, in huge numbers, at Agincourt, Crecy, Poitiers:) so a frog is a frog, 'cept for the dead ones. LOL

Lord Of The Rings is a great archery movie!

Now I mean sure we get it that hawkeyes forum is bad ok but even still you don't really notice it a whole lot. When I saw the movie the second time I was like oh hawkeyes forum isn't perfect but it was still a good movie. I think.
