I get mine from safari tuff which are a breakable insert(.204) Whole is 100 grain and can break off sections down to 50grain. I’ve also used inserts I’ve bought on Amazon cheap and the quality is great. Never had one that didn’t weight what it should of

 

I buy brass inserts off of Amazon. Zoeko makes some really nice Stainless ones that you can break off to get down to 50 grains that I use for my .204 shafts. But for .244-.246 I use the brass ones.

 

• Black Eagle Renegade Shafts Stainless Steel Bone Crushing Half-Outs - 52 Grains then you can make up to 102 grs with screw in weights
• Gold tip Airstrike.204 Stainless Steel inserts same thing add weights take off weights
• weight of insert depend on size of shaft

 

I use 50 grain aluminum inserts with 25 grain brass inserts to tune my insert weight. This gives me the ability to get the weight in need. I use 150 grain Stingers.

 

Whitewater Archery has some good 100g half outs, I've used the Black Eagle 52g half outs with 100g of brass hits behind it, and I'm currently using Victory Rip Shok 60g half outs with 100g of FACT weights behind it and my 125g heads to get me close to my 275 up front. Ethics Archery's stuff is just too expensive to have to be sanding on arrows. Podium Archery makes a great half out that goes up to 100g insert only and a collar system you can use over it, only problem is it's only made in 1 size, .270 id so there would be a lot of gap filling on anything thinner.

48@28” omega royal huntsman in route and the spine charts on his website put me at 400/500.

500 spine arrow build at about 30” arrow length gives me 462gr TAW at 19% FOC

400 spine at same length (wouldn’t expect that) gets me 488gr TAW, 17.7% FOC

My draw depending on bow is 27-27.5” so I should be just about 46#… I know that’s close to flirting with the 10gpp… will that be an issue?

What gpp gives you the sight picture or point on distance you prefer?

When I first read this I thought it was my post, I have the same inserts to tune my arrows.
