What, or how, are Winact, and WinEx limbs composed?

What are the differences between these ILF limbs, made in 2005 or 2006?

Are the differences significant? Why?

While both are made by Win-Win, the Winacts are wood core with carbon laminations, while the Winex are foam core with carbon laminations. When originally introduced, Winacts represented the state of the art. They're now considered an intermediate limb.

I believe I read on Alternative's site that the new "Winact" is a foam core. In fact it sounded like they were describing the dis-continued XQ-1. I'll have to look again to see if my memory is right. This thread has me curious now. (smiley face goes here)
