Hello,
I'm new to archery, rented a couple times and trying to get my own equipment. Problem is, the style of shooting and a complimenting bow seems to be impossible to acquire. I've been scouring archery pages to find what bow would work best for a right hand thumb release target shooting. I have found recommendations for a Samick SKB 50" however when I look at how to size a bow for myself, 50" is considerably smaller than what I should be using. From what I calculate, the size of the bow I need is 70"+ because I have a 31.75 draw (source).
I found a thread on this forum talking about takedown recurve bows and how an ILF riser could give me the size I need, however the risers I find are not what I am looking for and very expensive. I was hoping to find a riser without an arrow rest on it so that it would be more traditional, resting the arrow on my hand.
I was expecting to be paying a bit to get into archery, but not $500+/- for just the riser especially when the bow I linked above is only ~$170 for the whole bow.
Is there any equipment out there that fits what I am looking for in a riser? Affordable arrow restless IRF riser with the size I need to extend the size of the bow to 70"+
