I'm new for at least the second time....archery and bowhunting have been a big part of my life. I recently turned 69 and am not getting back into archery, as I have never stopped. I have been following this site for many years and believe I posted a couple times...back in the day with a different 'handle'. (In good standing, and not a robot, btw) Life has it's changes, and when email addresses change...sometimes we get lost. Anyway....I have always been a good listener...and study what people have to offer. This site and others, have been great resources.
Of course I started out traditional, and have vacillated from stickbows to compounds and back...a few times. So, after a lingering and severe rotator cuff problem, and surgery; then a neck injury two years ago....I have put the compound away. Yup. Nobody does that.
Part of my reasons for being quiet has been contentment. I bought a couple Blacktail bows, from Norm. But my kids...they just won't leave it alone, and a year ago the oldest got a BW on a trade with another guy, so I had to try one on the BW demo program. I couldn't send it back. Son 2 tried one, and kept it. Things have escalated from there.
My 2 sons, brother and I made the 7 hour trip to Kalamazoo, and since then I have been inspired to continue with a lot of my archery projects that I left behind...at least 10 years ago. Fishin's been slow this winter, so I have tinkered-up some 'Warfs", and a couple "Frankenbow's".
Anyway....I have decided to post on occasion and peruse the classified's in due time. I want to try some different things. With the completion of the last 3 "warfs" it has occurred to me that I have a bunch of bows that are all basically the same length and poundage, and honestly I'd like to 'mess around'; maybe shorter/lighter/ etc...
I am going to copy and make this same post on another archery site I frequently study.
Hunting is my thing, but 'tinkering' is me. I am one of those guys, "why would I spend $100 when I could make it half as good for $200..... LOL but true.
Thanks all!
Lee

I recently became inspired by Sam's- Warf build video's, and will be posting regarding that adventure. I have a "Warf" Hoyt that Bob Gordon did for me way back in the day, and a "Quarf" (Bear Black Bear with Quinn limbs) that I put together...I am guessing around 2008..

Lately i get the most satisfaction out of hunting with the stickbow. Never take a stump shot or practice poke while hunting with the compound. Just dont. Had all kinds of fun shooting dandelions with a judo last spring while turkey hunting. Never do that with my compound. So, its an attitude problem. Lol.
Thanks
I will draw the bow with my teeth before i resort to a crossbow. Just not for me. Im only 69. Lol

Ha! I found myself from back-in-the-day
Tried to keep my mouth shut and sup from the fountain of knowledge back then too.
That was 3 email changes and a lot of life events ago...
