I'm looking at an older Bob Lee takedown bow selling locally for $300. He hasn't come back to me regarding the year it was made. Mint condition 58 inches, #36. It has a handle made of ash and polymer with a riser of rosewood. Maple core limbs under brown glass with micarta tips. Not seeing any Red Wing Archery labels on it with the pics supplied. Question - why the 3-piece riser? Must say it takes away from the aesthetics of a nice old bow. Any experience with it as a shooter? Thanks.

Look up Craigslist Los Angeles under sporting goods, search for bows. It will come up on the first page. Good pics, and he did take the green sticker off. He got back to me saying he bought it about 7 yrs ago from the original owner and doesn't know the age. To me it's real homely looking with the grip and riser but would like to know of it as a shooter.

DAN, thanks for the path to it.
I've not seen one like it, but I am far from the BobLee expert.
As far as that goes, I've not seen any takedowns with grip area like that.
Maybe someone else will know something.
It LOOKS GREAT, I'd not be real afraid of it, as long as you can get the guy to say the limbs are straight, no twists, etc.
