Hey, guys, I was up at the range practicing on Thursday, pretty satisfied with my shooting, when on one of my shots there was a loud bang, and the arrow fell almost at my feet. I had no idea what had happened, until upon inspecting the arrow, I discovered that the nock had broken upon release.
I figure that the result was equivalent to dry firing my bow. I inspected the bow, and finding no cracks or delaminations, shot some more. The bow doesn't appear to have been damaged, but it sure scared the heck out of me.
Any of y'all have similar experiences? What did you do?

Another "condition" that can cause the nock breaking is to put a "torqueing" type pressure on it by virtue of your hook on the string... just a thought.
