Hi All,
I know it is not recommended to put a fast flight style string on older recurves, but can it be done with padded loop Flemish strings using Dacron for padding? Is this dangerous, and should I just stick to B50 for bows without modern tip overlays? Please advise, thanks in advance.

Yes, It can be done but personally I use Dacron on my vintage bows. Just don't feel the need to eek out a few extra fps. I have newer bows for that. I would use the same material used in the string for the padding. The purpose of the padding is to spread the force over greater area. Dacron isn't softer in this application and can wear away as it rubs against the newer material.
