I had a compound bow several years ago and was pretty good with it. I have been thinking about getting a recurve for some time. I found a good deal on a Martin Jaguar elite 40# bow. I liked this bow because it uses a rest instead of the shelf. I don't want to mess with feather fletched arrows yet. No I'm not sure if this bow will work with regular plastic fletching.

I bought 6 Gold Tip 400 arrows. I have 100 and 125gr tips. Arrows are 32". My draw is 29-30"

I need advice about the fletching and string. I have read a lot about both but before I spend more money I would like some expert advice.

What string do I need and where do I get it. Do I need to change the rest to use regular plastic fletching.

Bow will be in Tuesday and I want to be ready to shoot it.

Number one, 400's are way to stiff. Your bow with your draw may reach 46 lb, maybe not. You need 500 spine arrows or weaker. string can be had from various locations, amo is needed.
