we last traded emails in May 2024....Larry approached me knowing me for an old DAS guy, he had an early DAS riser David gifted to him, and Larry wanted me to have it......but he never found it.
we did not always agree on everything, often not......but we could disagree and still get along, I respected that with Larry.

Just the glimpses I saw of his storied life were amazing. The whole of it must be awesome.

I'm sure he will be missed by many.

Larry was a good soul. Liked his little slice of heaven in SE Wash. Like listening the stories of guys he knew in bow building biz.
Glenn, Harry, Fred, Gale, Bill P. Etc and all the things they knew or figgered out.

I know he tan the shop his way and those bows from that era were really nice.

I know he’s drawing a 70lb bow again in the Lords Glory.

I never met Larry in person , but we have been exchanging music , recipes and horse ideas and stories for many years … weekly I would get a new song to listen to from him , some of which were very left of field ( Laurie Anderson maybe a fave ? ) … and For years I had been threatening to meet him on the salt flats and loose arrows a long long way …

im going to have a nip of something tonight , listen to John Prine and fling an arrow as far as I can .

don’t wait to get on those planes, trains or phones eh , the hands won’t always be there to shake .

I had a Martin Hatfield. One of the nicest bows I ever owned. You knew it was the handiwork of someone special. Good travels out there Mr. H. - LH1

Larry left the forum before I joined, but I keep running into his posts, and once spent an entire day reading every post he wrote for this site. A giant in the world of archery.
