Here are a few pic of my ongoing laminated bow project. The bow consists of 5 X 0.6mm of Black Walnut, 0.5mm Acacia, 2mm of Satinwood and anither 0.5mm Acacia.
The bow is backed and bellied with 0.0040" clear glass
.... more to come if your interested

what is the black stuffs on top of the form? Under the elastic bands.
Hi JH
...it's 25mm medium density EVA foam cut into 50mm wide strips. It's the same material that sports shoe soles are made from. I cut it at an angle to form a sort of pyramid with the top cut off shape and then put a few nicks across the strip to help it bend around the former. It worked an absolute treat and dispersed the pressure of the rubber binding over the surface of the glass.

Still a lot of intricate tillering work to do ... results are encouragin

one slight concern..... the draw weight at the moment is around 60lbs @10inches ... the bow is designed to draw to 29.5 inches
