Henry has outgrown his longbow and his arrows. Now Papa (that's me) and daddy (Jason) are designing a three piece longbow/curve for him to grow with.

BTW he's 4 in a couple of weeks. I think carbon arrows are in the design also.

Any suggestions on carbons for a 4 year old?

800s will be too stiff. The ICS Junior is believe it or not a 500!
The Flash is pultruded and when they break (not very strong) they turn into long sharp pieces.

The best thing I've found is the Carbon Impact Super Club. They are a real filament wound shaft that comes will components and fletched with vanes. The 5/15 spine is around 1200 I believe and VERY lightweight.

Grant, beman juniors are 500 spine? Wow. I thought they was 600 spine?
The warning on them says not to shoot out of bows higher than 40#.
I used to shoot 500 spine with 50-57# bow (not the juniors tho).

What's his draw length? I'm told that at very short DL's, spine becomes mostly irrelevant (but can't confirm that...)

If true, any old shafts cut down would work.

I could have sworn they were just a cut-down bowhunter 500.

The reason they are marked to not shoot out of a bow heavier than 40# is because that allows the arrow manufacturer to not pay the excise tax on hunting equipment. It doesn't have anything to do with safety.

That would explain why they shoot so well from my 50# hill bows! :thankyou:

Matt,

They look like a very good arrow but Henry is only four and occasionally he flight shoots. If you know what I mean. LOL

Need cheap in case he decides to shoot the iron deer or rock.
