Italy won the Gold with a 10 for their final arrow. US gets Silver, Korea, Bronze.

I expect there'll be a run on Italian bows now ;-)

GREAT SHOOTING!!!!!!

Mauro Nespoli looked as though he was shooting a Best Mercury riser. Michele Frangilli, a Best Zenit.

Great stuff!!! It would have been awesome for the US to take the gold but the. Ompetition is so tough that silver is more than I had hoped for.

Interestingly, in the Bronze match, fourth place Mexico shot 219, and S. Korea shot a 224. That's the same score the USA beat Korea by in the semi's.

Maybe it'll be used more in the future now it's lost it's cherry??

The commentators were talking about the wind a lot. The flags on the targets were deceptive. The flags higher up in the venue were giving a stronger indication of the wind than those lower down. There has been a lot of talk about the wind at Lords being unpredictable.

The shooting lane was shielded for about 2/3rds of it's way down by stands but the wind was affecting the arrows as they left the shelter. It could have been camera angle but a lot of the arrows seemed to be flying 'stiff' and the grouping were often to the left of the red/yellow. Jake after he'd shot first at the beginning of one of the matches seemed to be indicating in the background that the wind was catching the arrows. I think it was Jacob that seemed to flinch at one point. He was about to release when a gust came. The Koreans seemed to be 'guiding' the arrows with the bow a little too, possibly in response to a sudden gust.

I liked the backdrop of the Lords old buildings for an archery tournament. Seemed fitting.

Michael Vaughan did a short BBC report on the history of Lords. Aparently it was originaly designed as a cricket and archery field.
