13% of AMO bow length should get close to right brace height. Jim Casto Jr. first posted it up, far as I know.
13% is barely over 1/8 so I often divide bow length mentally by 8 to get a starting brace.
THANKS JIM.

The increase in noise could be because you have a few more horses under the hood now. It would be interesting to know what a bare shaft would show about your left impacts. If you don't want to bare shaft, you could try arrows with slightly higher and lower spine, and see what happens.

Have an arrow showing a tad weak, raise BH a tad. Adding a lot of twists to a Bow string raises BH but may cause the string to have a coil spring effect. Generally better to build a string to proper length with no more than 3-4 twists per inch is preferable.
The string grooves in a Recurve limb can be a reference point. I usually twist the BH till string is about to lift out or a tad higher.
String hitting the recurves is more of an issue with Dacron than non-stretch like D-97.
Have put Mole skin on the curves to help silence them. The late Sid Ball shared a good way to silence the string in the curves when the string hits brace after the shot.
A square of soft Velcro sticky back about an inch square placed were the string meets the curve in static position and allowing it to touch the string about 3/16's of an inch.
Contrary to what most think, the string only makes contact in this area dynamically when the string bottoms out after the shot. I've heard of people using brush busters at the same point to cushion the string along with other rubber like string cushioned like these.

Interesting, this bow in question...if I use recommended BH the string extends way past end of string groove before it lifts off limb..

What kind of bow is it? Length? What is BH with short string and recommended BH?

I dunno, I don't notice anything unusual about your equipment that would explain why it should be so far away from the norm. I was chatting with Rick Barbee about 10 years ago when he was experimenting with ultra high BH's on Black Widows. The high end on a BW was 9”, and he was experimenting with about a half inch higher than that and getting good results. Nobody thought it was a good idea, and it violated BW's warranty, but he wanted to do it anyway. I don't remember if he took it any further than that.

I know it should be slower but those 500 gr arrows don't seem much difference between both brace heights..and its super quiet, love it .arrows just dropin right it at 15-20.super forgiving ,no hand shock..really smooth draw..gonna weight it tomorrow, see what actual draw at my length is.
