I have at least one 1913 Platinum Plus shaft, I may have more, what length would you eventually want the footings to be in so that I can cut the shaft down to a multiple of that length so that there is minimal loss?

I found a some shafts that traveled around trees and targets! I cut them down to remove the "curved" sections.
1 @ 25-3/4"
1 @ 24-1/2"
1 @ 14-1/2"
1 @ 13-1/4"

I was looking for probably 1" footing, maybe 1.5". I haven't done these before, so some tinkering will be required.
