I would like to start shooting some competitions. I have looked at NFAA and IBO rules. I feel like I would need a law degree to build a bow that will due for both. The confusion I have is around the rest. If I want to use one riser and configuration for IBO 3d and NFAA indoor can I use a rest and plunger? It looks like IBO would have me shooting with string walking shooters if I use a rest and plunger.
NFAA Trad class allows a rest and plunger. So does the IBO RU class. You would have to shoot against stringwalkers in RU. There is an IBO recurve class where you have to shoot off of the shelf, but the shelves are often built up like rests. I stringwalk and have to shoot against compound bows for NFAA. The biggest difference is the distances which go out to 30 yards for IBO and 80 for NFAA.
Same bow, two techniques and sets of arrows is about the best you can do.
