I recently switched target faces from the 60cm size to the 40cm size @ 20 yds.
When I was using the 60cm target face I would more times than not break the 100 point mark using the S.C. A. standard of 5 points for gold then 4,3,2,1 from red out to white FITA target face. that's shooting 6 flights of six arrows each.
When using the 40 cm FITA target face and the same scoring system and number of arrows I consider myself lucky to break 80.... could the 20 cm difference in size be that daunting?
