wood shafts break ! you would be better off with 11/32 hunting but for target you want 5/16 . but all wood arrows not the same . I get mine from wapiti archery in 5 grain groups .A 270 grain shaft and use 100 grain tip =390 grain arrow . weight your friends , most wood shafts will be 20 grains apart . so 2 arrows at a 40 yrds target will be way different .always cedar arrows !!!!
