Jinks.....That pic is nasty...Just plain ol' nasty......Jim
Yeah...sorry...but maybe it'll save someone else the same and make sure ya'll shake yer sox and boots out cause can you imagine this?...
Took off work lunchtime Friday (last year) to head up to the ASA State Championship Shoot...stopped at the grocers on the way home...filled the cooler up with ice, diet teas and luncheon meats with a bag full of snacks....had my room reservations made...getting ready to leave the house loading up my bow, arrows and clothes and suddenly?...my leg felt like I was standing in a pile of fire ants...sans the ants...yanked my boot and sock off...saw that...took and posted the pic..(so my buds would know why I didn't make it)...and an hour later I was in the ER.
3 days later?....that leg was smurf blue from the knee down and I couldn't feel a thing...thought I was going to lose it....and I think the only reason I didn't was because God decided my family and I didn't need that much tribulation.
To me?...that's the pi$$y thing about spiders...as you usually don't even know you have them until you've been bitten...and I actually thank God it got in my sock and not my wife or daughters...cause that leg felt like it was on fire for about a month...and I'd say it took me every bit of a year to get completely healed up and over it and stop walking with a limp.
To put it bluntly?...I'd of rather got stung by a scorpion...at least with them?...it's just like a really bad wasp bite/sting then your feeling nauseous for a couple days and it's over...but them spiders?....and it really sux that thanks to the EPA?...there's no commercially available poisons strong enough to guarantee eradication of either.
so keep those sox an boots shook out folks!..especially when camping in Florida....at oh, say...TBOF?
