I switched to my dominant eye (left eye) 4 years ago. Dropped down in draw weight from 70# to 33#. Found out about something called “string-blur” and that I was over drawing to the side of my face. In my mind I was thinking “what the heck are people talking about, I don’t see no string-blur”...
Bunch of cars and one 18 wheeler were stuck in 10 foot high piles of tumbleweeds last night outside Richland, Wa. on Hiway 240. Took until after 4:00 A.M. to dig them all out.

It seems that way to me - but I may be biased as my preferred weight dropped 10 pounds.
It seems like it used to be in the low 50s on average and now its in the low to mid 40s.
Is this what other people are seeing? Id be really curious to hear what any professional bowyers have to say.
I'm 60 and decided to dust off the longbows in the basement:
a custom Horne 66" 47# , and a
Viper 68" 40#
Both bows are reflex deflex. I have a 28" draw.
In town there's open archery at the rec center on Sundays from noon - 4 PM. So I'll need to get arrows with field points.

It was not uncommon, back in the 40's and 50's, for folks to give names to inanimate objects. My dad's shotgun was christened Old Bertha. I never knew where the name came from, or if he just picked it out of the air at some point; however, I do know a few...
First I would like to say these guys are human and are also under a lot of pressure in these events. Hungary put a protest into WA as the video footage shows their guy should have won Gold medal in the Instinctive div, somehow the Judge got the scores written down incorrectly.

I could have tagged this onto the thread "...Upon This Rock I Will Build My Church" but it might have been lost there or overlooked. Again, Dr. Charles Stanley has been learning about and growing in the trials of...
Took my homemade longbow out to the Senior Olympics today to shoot the American round. Lots of fun. Shot 685 out of 900. Dropped a bunch of points before I realized that my bow string was catching on my binocular strap. Should have broke 700. 214/300 at 60yards, 231/300 at 50yards, and 240/300...
For those of you starved of something "Border" ....
The first "Border" TD was George Birnie's Royal Scots Bows "Executive" (circa '65), with a wooden riser, very much in the style of the Wing Presentation II.
(I've never seen one, although may have a photograph of one & some brochure/advert...

Ever wonder what Chinese bows looked like 2,500 years ago?
Here is a glimpse of some excavated wooden and bamboo bows (and their digital reconstructions) from the Spring & Autumn (771--446 BCE) and Warring States (445--221 BCE) periods. This illustration...
Im not going to say we are in the Golden Years of Archery however I do believe we are in a great time in Trad Archery. Several events have contributed to the development in Traditional Archery from the availability of shooting instruction, internet forums and Gear.

Hi everyone. new to forum. I am a new archer. I am 34 and have not shot since I was about 12-13 years old. I just moved to Twin Cities, MN and wanted to learn to not only just do archery again for hobby and peace, but also to take up bowhunting end of 2016.
I just learned I am left eye dominant...
