I have been shooting this same setup with no changes for months. When I got my new rest I re-tuned and my bare shaft groups were hitting with my fletched groups consistently. I am still scoring well, but I seem to have plateaued in the mid 260's. I also have noticed that I'm moving my string...

So I thought my aluminum shafts were going to be my hunting arrows for the year and Ive noticed most have a bend about 6" up from the field point so I'm back at square one trying alternatives. I have some Easton Axis 5mm done up and after a little fiddling I have bareshafts as well as I can...

I recently bought a pair of Hex 7.2 medium limbs rated at 52# on a 25” riser. They are on a titan iii 19” riser with limb bolts all the way in. I am pulling approx 27” and here is my group of 1 fletched arrow with 2 bare shafts @ 15 yrds. This is about as good as I can tune... but those are 200...

Is there any benefit to tuning your arrow by thickening or thinning the strike plate vs cutting and point weight? I read about Rick Welsch talking about making your bow shoot where you point but says he doesn't bare shaft tune?

Paper is showing me that my back is coming in high, which is weird because I generally keep my knocking point lower than most. Lowered the knocking point to 0, still showing knocking point high [??]. I cant lower anymore without going below zero. Anyone have any idea what is going on here?

Hey! New to this ILF stuff and I really didnt know what I was getting into when I bought this Samick Discovery, what with all this tech stuff and tuning but anyway here I am and I have a question. It was shooting better than I could but 3 R suggested a Vista rest/plunger combo that was really...

I wanted to ask about a method I use but may not be correct? When i begin tuning a new arrow setup , I take a single bareshaft and shoot it and look at flight and or impact and tears in cardboard target. I have a set of various length bareshaft to try and compare flight. If i know an arrow...

Hey everyone, new on here and new to traditional archery. I'm looking for some guidance here as I'm stumped trying to get my bow to tune with a new string. My resources are limited where I am, so I'm hoping some of you with more experience can help me problem solve. Thanks. My current set-up...

Welp, i'm succumbing to asking the internet for answers. Each year I usually build a self-bow, but this year I haven't had the time and am opting to go back to my 50lb samick sage for the forgiveness and shootability for hunting. I put a new string on it and reset the 2 nock points. Took my...

Is there a rule of thumb regarding how much length cut off an arrow equals “x” amount of point weight reduction. Something like reducing arrow length by .25” is the same as reducing point weight by 25 grain? Totally just throwing that out as an example.

So my problem is I am shooting a 100 grain brass glue on insert with a 155 single bevel glue on grizzly broadhead. I ordered 160 grain glue on field points to tune my arrows with because thats the closest thing I could match to the broadhead. Well after I got my bareshaft flying straight I got...

Hopefully someone with more insight into Uukha will be able to offer some assistance. Having had an interest in Uukha limbs for a while, I recently picked up a pair of Ex1's that I happened upon. Long limbs, 34#, just about perfect for my use. I had my short hunting bow (17" Dalaa, long Soul...

Covid has keep me on the home place, so I've been shooting my old Bob Lee takedown a lot recently. Basically ignorant in traditional archery despite owning a recurve for close to 40-years. I bought "Shooting the Stickbow" and read it. I've read alot, watched alot videos, and shot alot. It...

Hi all, Admittedly I'm a novice at tuning a recurve so I'm asking for some guidance... I'm seeing a consistent nock right and slight point down on impact on the arrow. Bow is Covert Hunter 17" riser, 60" M limbs, #50 (H8) Nock height is 1/2" I've got a very slight bias to left on the...

My bad shoulders have only so many shots per session. I had two bows that I wanted to tune/retune. One was a Tamerlane and the other was Border ILF Hex 8's - new string. Due to the limited number of shots I could take, I thought I'd work with the Bear first and 'shoot the line with a bare...

What can I expect to happen to my arrow trajectory if I: 1. Lengthen my brace height by 1/2" 2. Change tiller by 1/8" either positive, or negative. Nothing drastic!

My question(and hopefully it's not too dumb) for all you more experienced folks here is, what do you feel is the approximate minimum group size(and at what distance) that a person should be able to attain before being able to get meaningful results from arrow tuning? I've seen it said, and it...

Help! I am trying to tune a new bow and I am not having any luck. First of all I am new to the archery thing. I got an inexpensive 30# recurve 6 months ago and have been shooting a lot since then. I just got a new ILF recurve and I am trying to tune it. I have tried everything that I have read...

I just received a new White Feather Lark 19" riser (which is very nice, incidentally). I've put old DAS Kinetics carbon/wood long limbs on it which come out to a 64" bow at about 46# @ 28.. I'm having a little trouble with bare shaft tuning off the shelf. I have quite a bit of experience with...
