Anybody got information on if Hoyt has anything in the works for a new hunting riser?
The Satori’s a great riser but seeing that it’s been over 3 years since the Satori came out and Hoyt has put out a bunch of new stuff in the target recurve and compound areas since then, I’m curious if they...
I shoot every day and hunt as often as possible. Even thought I have killed deer with my recurve I still don’t really know anything about archery. Is there a book or YouTube channel or PDF or something that I could read to learn the basics? Thanks for the help.
Why is it called Trad?
The label “Traditional” is a product of the compound bow industry, and it’s wrong….. :boxing:
There are two kinds of levers….. there are simple levers and compound levers….. and a bow is a lever... is uses simple leverage, or compounded leverage…. Both provide mechanical...
Hey all --
According to the 3rivers dynamic spine calculator, my bow has a dynamic spine of 63. It's a Black Widow PAV 41# @ 27" (which is my draw). 62" AMO.
Every carbon spine chart out there says I should be at .500 carbon spine with 100-125gr points at 28" of length.
But when I plug that...
I tried some 4" Trad Vanes from on ( Goldtip entradas) arrows being shot off a NAP center rest on my ILF indoor target bow, pretty impressed. Have many of you switched from feathers to all trad vanes ?

I had been following the work done by Cody Greenwood over on the above site and was somewhat disappointed when activity came a halt. Of course over on his FB page and various pod talks he has been very active. I recently contacted Cody to ask if he intends to continue the bow testing for the...
2 things i want to know
First, is a riser built from linen micarta legal in the Trad. Hunter class?
Second, how are the targets placed? Is it more like hunting situations with narrow shot windows etc. or is it like WA where everything is unobstructed and "highway-like"?
Anyone familiar with the classes at IBO? The self bow class states;
Bow - no manmade material can be used on bow except string material and glue. No performance enhancing material may back the bow (ie. Another wood, bamboo, rawhide or sinew). Only decorative materials such as snake skins may be...
Anyone else's experience like this? I finally get my shooting form down, its a repeatable sequence and its working, arrows going where I want them to.
OK, its taken 3 years, but now I've got it! Couple of days later, pick up the bow, painstakingly go through the sequence ...whoosh arrow goes...
For some reason my viewing window on some TT threads seems to keep getting wider every time I open a post in that thread. Very irritating, because I have to scroll from left to right to read every line of posts in that thread.
Not sure why it happens, and I haven't found a way to reduce the...
I’m new to the forum, and I’m looking for advice on which of these two risers is more durable, and well made. I’m looking into purchasing a ILF riser in order to build a durable, and packable bowhunting longbow, I’d like to go with the DAS because of 17” riser, but if the Trad Tech is...

Hi I've decided to start trad archery this year. Im 5'10" shoot 28.5" draw compound 60#. Thinking about getting a Samick Sage with 25lb limbs to start then jumping up to probably 45 for hunting season.
My questions are 1. What do you think of this plan? 2. How will the 25# do for 3d. 3. What...
