Hi everyone, I just signed up yesterday and have spent about five or six hours reading posts on this forum and the Archery Talk forum. I’ve been “researching” archery on the internet for about two months, and think I’m starting to get a sense of the direction I want to go. I’ve read just enough...
  2. Hunting Camp
Hi everyone! I am new to hunting in general and plan on going out for my first archery season for deer in a few weeks. I've had a recurve for about a year and shot occasionally until the last 2 months. In the last 2 months I try to shoot 3-5 days shooting around 50ish arrows, or until I feel...

Well I finally got my Bear Grizzly set up with properly spined arrows and it seems to be shooting really nicely. I went with Easton Aftermath 500 spine cut to 30.25”, 75 grain inserts, 225 grain points, and 4 fletch feathers. I’ve picked this hobby back up after a few year break and had...

I recently purchased a very nice PSE Criterion target bow, circa 1980/82. 40# @ 28", 70" long. My question is do these limb tips look safe to use Fast Flite string with. I don't have any issue with using Dacron it's just that I have 5 new FF strings available to use. Thanks in advance for any input.
  5. Warfin' Wall
‘About to get the stuff in to assemble my first warf bow. Hoyt Rambo riser, limb pockets and hardware from eBay, and 55# medium length TT limbs (to start). A couple of questions: I see that set screws to lock limb bolts are found on ILF risers. I see posts that suggest they are not needed ...

Got a dozen new shafts over the weekend and am going to set up a couple of them to try using fletch to the nose contact as a draw check. Is there any systematic way of going about that, or is it guess and check? My current ideas are to set up 3 arrows with 1/4" difference between the setback and...

I put the arrow just below my target. Since I practice with my hunting bow, I was quickly aware that field tips and broadheads are different in length. So I consider the 'tip' to be the shiny ring on the arrow end- Basically the little bit of of the insert that is exposed on the end of the...

I've noticed I score the lowest on the FITA target. My groups are also pretty spread apart on it compared to other targets. On the NFAA target I can focus on the "X" and I shoot much better with tighter groups. Basically any target that has a small dot of a different color I do really well on. I...

I've seen a number of folks mod their Jager grips. Is there anything I should be aware of? Suggested grits / tools? I'm mainly looking at the palm heel pad and making it more flat, so it's the "rubbery" part and maybe some slimming from the side. My primary tool at my disposal is my...

Gentlefolk?...there's been much to do about how lively different bows/limbs are or?....are not...."After The Shot" Now there's been a slew of "Slomo Vids" of various (if not questionable) quality posted of these bows/limbs reactions and after much thought and observation?...here's what I walk...

I like to use a larger string body and smaller diameter center serving because it seems to stay in place better for me. I make endless and Flemish. I stretch all my strings on a stretcher (I use to just hang a 45lb weight from them over night). I've center served them on a bow and on the...

I shot my first league tonight. We are shooting the Vegas multi color 300. I shot a 238. I lost a few points using 1 arrow that was quite a bit shorter than the other two on the first three rounds. I am shooting 30" arrows with 200 gr tips. My gap is about two feet. Are you guys using full...
