Has anyone here ever found the difference in arrow speeds from shooting off the shelf to a rest and plunger button?

I just received a new White Feather Lark 19" riser (which is very nice, incidentally). I've put old DAS Kinetics carbon/wood long limbs on it which come out to a 64" bow at about 46# @ 28.. I'm having a little trouble with bare shaft tuning off the shelf. I have quite a bit of experience with...

Does everyone use an elevated rest on their ILF rigs? I have a Black Magic riser and i shoot off the shelf, would it be beneficial for me to use an elevated rest instead. it is a wood riser and dosent have a plunger hole, i would have to use a stick on rest.

So I have a new-ish self bow that is literally just a stick. No arrow shelf and I'm shooting off my hand. I was wondering how people deal with that - note that I _want_ to deal with this. I have other gear that has a shelf and/or rest and that's fine. This bow doesn't. In order to not get any...

I am building my first ward bow. I would like to shoot off the shelf. Does this look like a good shelf to shoot off or should I sand it more square (90 degree) in the corner?

Hi all, I need some help pls with some issues when shooting off the shelf please. I have some wear on the (fabric) centre of the shelf but the outer edge is worn badly. I have seen this before (same arrows) and replaced the shelf material but here I am again......worn away at the outer edge...

As I have stated before, I'm back into archery after a 20 year layoff. I have watched a lot of You Tube videos about Trad shooting. I would venture to guess that at least 90% of the shooters shoot off the shelf and use feathers rather than veins. Why Is that? I used a simple flipper rest back...

I recently upgraded to a Titan II with long 45# Black Max wood/glass limbs. I’ve also decided to try switching from a Bear Weather Rest to shooting off the shelf. Any suggestions on best practices to set it up with the Titan’s flat shelf? I fully understand I’m going to be tinkering quite a bit...

For a long time I've been using elevated rests on most of my bows, even vintage bows, where I use a feather rest. But on the DAS and Warf bows I've always shot with a T-300 and a cushion plunger. On my newest DAS (Thank You Steve Long), I shot a bit with the T-300 on it bit decided to try the...

I found a 2014 thread on this, but I'm wondering if anybody has additional thoughts on what material to use and where to find it. Just looking to buy some material for my shelf and side plate/bolt on a WF19 I'm using for hunting and hoping for whatever input you're all able to give. There's...

I have gone through my PMs I can not find the info. There is a member on this forum that builds shelf material. It is an adhesive base, plastic followed by velcro base. If I recall he could build it to a very precise height. Does anyone know who this is?

Hi guys, I have a 17” Tempest inbound on which I am going to install my Raptor longbow limbs. Had those limbs on a 19” Tempest but thought they were a bit noodly and so should be more stable on the shorter riser. Anyway, keen to try shooting off the shelf - both my other Tempests use buttons...

Shooting off the shelf on a BB? I drill and tapa 5/16'sx24 lower hole for centershot adjustment and just add velcro and a ground down bolt. Perfect and you do not raise the arrow further away from the hand. I use a hex head bolt and spin grind the head down and superglue some thin leather on the...

I did a search but did not really find a definitive answer. * I would prefer to ignore the 'fixed crawl' option for the sake of better understanding where true stringwalking can be made to work with hunting style equipment (shorter ILF risers (21" and less) and simple rests (often risers...

1st post, not allowed to post links yet, so: copy> Penetrating Power of Bow & Arrow 1961 US Army Special Forces, from "Silent Warriors">paste> youtube I assume everybody here has already seen that, but maybe not? 1961? Id guess those old recurves were closer to 50# than 60#, but I have no...

For those of you who have switched between elevated rest and the shelf, how did it affect your crawls? Was there a big difference in the crawls? Accuracy? Noise?

My Gen2 has this setup. Was considering doing something similar on my Tribute, using the shelf bump made for it. Would like to see how others set up off the shelf. Also, I remember someone, maybe D. Soza using a bolt in the plunger hole with a fur or Velcro pad instead of a plunger.
