Rusty sold me his "moonbow" riser, an old Hoyt 1970s? TD-1 H16 recurve riser.
He called it that because he said it looked like something from outer space with "antennae" on it's head......think "My Favorite Martian" and if you know what that is you're dating yourself, like I am.
These use a Hoyt...
Rusty is in the process of going through his inventory of bows and I offered to help him sell some of it. He dropped off a nice warf riser today and says he has a "few". What's a warf going for these days?
Thanks,
Mike
Several years ago Rusty Craine posted about using "his" fixed crawl for hunting. Every so often, he'd bring it up again, and again and.......
Several of us gave it a try--I'm still using a fixed crawl for my hunting bows.
Anyway... the past couple years posts and videos would pop up and the...
99% sure I'm going to order a GD. I've emailed Sid with a couple questions but I know they just got back to the shop this week so I've got to have some patience. In the meantime I think Daniel, Rusty, and Pete W are the only ones I'm aware of that have shot or owned them. I've read the prior...
GOOD THOUGHTS, BELLS,INCENSE or however you believe, I ask your thoughts be with Rusty. A bit of heart trouble, I can say no more without his permission.
I started string walking and hunting from a single crawl based on your postings over the years - I think you were posting as trashwwod when I first started reading your posts.
I see all the new folks trying it and I smile thinking about you beating the drum over the years and finally folks are...

I know that you´ve been playing with your Ghillie Dhu horsebow .....
you also seem to be open for trying something different ....
so I thought you like this one :D
congrats on a mighty fine bow
Here is what I have been working on. I still don't have a string that I can use. This is gonna be AWESOME though. Long Centaur LB limbs, Hoyt GPX. This riser is inline and has no deflex so the limbs seem to be VERY stable at 7" brace height (that's on a 70" bow!!!).
I'm liking my 20 yd crawl with my light-weight (45# max) WARF by Sam and vintage Hoyt limbs. I think that I'm about ready for some pigs. Anybody got a blue mouth cur loaner for tracking :) LOL!!
Thanks Rusty for all the posts detailing your light hunting set-ups!!!
