What are the pros and cons of tuning by: 1. Shooting bare shafts through paper to get a direct measurement of the arrow's attitude as it flies? - ie nock left or right, nock up or down, and by how much; versus 2. Shooting bare shafts and fletched shafts at the same target, determining the...

The simplest method I have heard about for bare shaft tuning is to shoot a mixture of fletched and unfletched arrows and changing spine until they both group in the same spot. Forget about looking for nock high, low, right and left. Is this a legitimate method?

Last weekend while practicing after the 3d shoot I mentioned to a more experienced archer that I thought my draw length had increased since I took up archery about a year ago, yes he said your short drawing that bow and he then proceeded with another archer who has coaching credentials to...

I use a 20 yard fixed crawl for our indoor league. It just ended and now getting ready for turkey and bear season. There is no doubt that I am more accurate with the fixed crawl but when it comes to hunting, gapping seems more comfortable with various ranges. Just curious if you guys change...

I was helping a club member tune his new arrows, after we got the basic bareshaft tune we used the drop method to figure out the fine plunger tune. My Vanquish/CV limb set shows me just how great a WA3D setup it really is (33y max) on my 10y crawl walkback from 10 to 35y I very very little drop...

Well I did it, I set up my 25" Avalon Plus with Hoyt FX 40# limbs with 27" DL. This year I am going to try gap shooting and three under (thanks to Dave Holqust's suggestion). I tried Platinum plus 1916 31" arras with 100 gr points. I am looking for suggestions on the arrows and how to hold...

I have a TT Blackmax limb that is just slightly twisted. The string doesn't lay in the groove just perfect, it is ever so slightly off to one side. What is the best way to bump the limb back to being perfectly straight? Thanks!

This will not be of interest to the seasoned gap shooters but it was of interest to me. I posted a while back about shooting the same gap from 15m to 38m and thought the results were abnormal. Many pointed out it was common knowledge that an optical illusion takes place. So I shot from...

Jink, It would be interesting to run your ArcheryTalk aiming method poll over here. From comments in the newcomers posts of Phils, and my form zealot poll, there is an impression that there is a greater focus on form on Tradtalk. It would be interesting to see how the results compare.

Hey Folks...First I want to emphasis that it was "I"..."Myself"...that requested Mr. Barbee to make the center-served string diameter .100"...and it is what he supplied me...which was my best guess of what might be a good fit to the nocks of the super club arrows I ordered but hadn't received...

I posted a while back on switching to a high anchor, 3 under and using a sighting method to tune my arrows. Greysides asked if I was not interested as to the benefits of using a sighting method that I focused on as opposed to my system of almost snap shooting. Now there is no doubt in my mind...

It looks like I am migrating to using an aiming method, I have tried using the tip of the arrow, but I am unable to see the tip of the arrow and the target in the same frame, I can either look at the tip or look at the target. With that said, I am able too see the bow shelf clearly and the...

Of shooting a Bow is very effective, especially at very close range. A combination of consistent form and repetitive training using Eye Hand coordination to "Point" a Bow and Arrow at the Target can be ingrained to make the method work pretty well. The Brains ability to memorize Arrow...
