Hi everyone I joined this forum back in 2011 but never posted. Not long after joining I had a neck and shoulder problem and quit shooting bows for a while. Well a while turned into years. I did buy a crossbow and shot a few deer with it but just don't care for it that much so it hangs on the...

Been shooting a flemish string called FF plus. Love the string but has issues finding more of them so I bought a couple custom flemish D97 strings from a reputable guy online. Very happy with the workmanship on these new strings. The long bow setup is a 35 lb scaled 64 inch ilf. Shooting full...

Learn by my mistake..... I bought a riser from an ad where it was listed as a 17". When I got it, it was a 15". It seems that the seller measured the overall length and not the distance from ILF insert bushings or across the bolt centers and add 5". He said that he would refund my money. I...

I started shooting Easton Axis arrows lately and I either need to buy something other than my bag target or I need to find someone who makes a 9/32 175 grain tip. My 5 year old daughter typically retrieves arrows for me and she can't get these things out of the bag.

So I have 100 grain field points but I can only find 125 grain broad heads. Will it mess up my spine so much to be dangerous to shoot? Or what affects will it have at all other than POI and such? I'm using cedar arrow shafts on a 40lb bow. My dad fell victim to shooting a broken carbon arrow...

Is there something I must do before I'm able to make posts on the Friends of the NRA forum? Or am I experiencing some kind of a technical hitch?

I make my own knife sheaths from kydex I ORDER on ebay. I use the 80 thou thickness and ordered some of the foam and glued it to half inch plywood. I use clamps and heat the sheet I cut out roughly in a square to fit with excess. Use the 1/4 eyelets and made a punch to spread the heads in my...

Sipsey River told me to try liquid electrical tape for limb tip protection for my Uukha limbs. Well... I did, and it works perfectly. I saw how this stuff worked and it got me to thinking. I wondered how it would do on those contact places--the limb butt under the limb bolt and the rocker...

It’s been suggested that I do a tutorial here on TradTalk on how to make a feather grinder. I know there’re a lot of ways to process feathers; this is how I do it. I’d be glad to hear any ideas of how you do it, or, answer any questions about my process. I made a jig years ago from ideas I got...

Typically any "target" limb that is black is usually glossy finish A few folks mentioned rubbing on furniture wax and letting it haze. Is there a more permanent but simple way? If I sprayed a matte poly spray, would that do the trick? And NO, I do not want grab a can of black spray paint! :)

The general opinion of target archers better than me seem to be that a longer brace light lets them shoot more accurately. And the bows they win competitions with tend to suggest they are right. Maybe this refers to more traditional bows only - Im not sure. But Im wondering what the actual...
