I have made 1 longbow to date Hickory Osage #50. Shoots nice. Still Ok after 100 shots.

My first question is will flat grain maple be ok for the limb laminations. We couldnt get any 6/4 to cut for edge grain.

Here are a few pic of my ongoing laminated bow project. The bow consists of 5 X 0.6mm of Black Walnut, 0.5mm Acacia, 2mm of Satinwood and anither 0.5mm Acacia.
The bow is backed and bellied with 0.0040" clear glass

Is is possable to laminate 5 or 6 pieces of boo together to use as a board to make a bow with?
If it is, how do you process natural boo into flats? I have a ton of boo growing in my woodline, some of it rather large that I would like to do this with.
Does anybody know how to laminated a bow with horn. I am in the processs of making a mongloian composite bow, and i want to keep it historically accurate(which means no fiberglass) but I am willing to use modern glues. All i need to do is put a layer of horn lamination on the belly of the bow...
How do you know what thickness laminations to use when making selections for a fiberglass and wood laminated longbow. I have an idea of the length and width of the bow and the draw wieght I want I just don't know how to get there. Any help would be great, Thanks a lot!
