A coworker has a old Indian compound bow that he would like to make into a warfing. Does anyone know anywhere to find some good info or have any info on if this riser can be used for this project?

Had a great shoot at Indian River Archers today with 5 of us single string types...Joe on a Bear Grizzly, Dennis Piper on his Ricky Welsh Longbow, Mike on a Bear Super Kodiak, Julie on a Lucas Novotny Saluki Horse Bow and I shot my Border CVX Limbs on a 25" Border ILF Wood/CF ILF riser and we...

Putting this in here as an example of a draw curve for a rarely-encountered kind of bow. These Plains bows are essentially short (47") longbows, with short practical draw lengths to match. This is a lighter weight example, obviously. The ones capable of taking down Bison from point blank range...

This is mine/my dad's Plains Indian-style bow that was made by bowyer Bill Vonderhey sometime in the 1990's. Vonderhey has since passed away. Drawn to 41#@20", I got 125 fps with 383 grain arrows, and up to 119 with 500 grain arrows. Perhaps this bow should be bending more closer to the handle...

Finished up the inking for this next addition to the "Art" bows; or what is also referred to as the "Traditional Tattoo Series" bows. This particular riser is for a 66" longbow. The artwork was inspired by traditional Alaskan Indian artwork. From the bottom of the riser to the very top we got...

Old Indian XI bolt on (Pro Style) Hi guys new to this forum, but a psychotic DIY sort of fella. Here is my conversion of the old Indian XI wood riser to a bolt on recurve. I made the limb pockets adjustable to ensure the limbs aligned correctly.

Only film ever from that time. When I was young we talked with our hands so white people would not know what we were saying.

I have done a search and haven't seen much on Indian's various compounds. Do any of their bows work? Indian Deer Hunter Deer Slayer (name implies more success than previous model) close up of riser and limb, riser material almost looks plastic? Indian Stalker? and last but not least the 222...

Anyone know where to get a side plate for a Indian Archery recurve? The one in the shape of an Indian head? I tried making one using the old one as a pattern and tracing around it in leather and cutting it out, but just didn't look right. Are there any of these still available? Thanks, Jack

I want to encourage you guys to look into Indian Club Exercise's for fitness but most importantly rotator cuff health. I've been doing it for about a week. I'm not using actual Indian Club's (I'll buy or make some later). I've been using a split bar barbell (seperated) to do the exercises while...

Thought you guys may enjoy this one. Most folks have never seen an Indian Archery target model. This one is from mid 60's...the Cheyenne model. It's 66", 45#, and quite ample in limb width and riser mass. The dark brown part of the riser is micarta and has unique design. The close-ups show...

Here's a link to a story about an Amazon man living alone, and subsiding with very little. Apparently he uses his bow to deter outside contact. He must be quite a tribesman to survive in that jungle alone. http://www.slate.com/id/2264478/?yahoo=y Hope that works. Good Read..

Yesterday, I aqquired (for free) an old Indian Archery Deer Hunter compound that had been sitting in a closet for the last 15 years. It looked promising, as the limb pockets were about the same width as those on my Martin Jaguar. This morning, I removed the compound limbs and and took a closer...
