Just did this for my bows. Cut the tips off some racks I had piled up. Drilled a hole in the ends. Put screws into them. Mounted into drywall mounts. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So I have been contemplating the purchase of a dozen arrows. On e bay I can get a dozen gold tip blems for 60 delivered. My issue is, do I go with a 500 or 400 spine. I've played with the dynamic spine calculator and if I go with a 500, I'll need to go with low point weight and cut back arrows...

I recently picked up a Martin Jaguar Elite bow. It came with bolt on limbs, but the riser accepts ILF as well. Eventually I’ll pick up some nicer limbs, but in the mean time would it be a bad idea to cut the material from the butt end of the limbs to open the slot? Why do it? My thought is...

I’ve been thinking about building some ground blinds where I hunt. A few spots have very sandy clay which is easy to dig. My idea is to dig a hole about 3.5 feet deep, then build up about two feet of cover on each side. What do y’all think of this idea? It would leave less of my body exposed to...

The beginner thread starts out - I'm just getting started in trad, but have shot an 85 pound compound for years. I'm 6'4" and 225, work out everyday. What arrows do I need for my 65 pound recurve? Everyone knows what the next responses are. You need to start with 25-30 pounds. Sometimes...

I have always been fascinated by said subject. Largest knife that I currently own, is a Puma Original Bowie, given to me, as a birthday present, 40 years ago. Not of much practical use, with its obtuse edge angle, but nice to look at... Woops! Not quite the case.. The largest "knife"...

I was looking at You Tube and found this little gem: What do you folks think of this concept? I could see a great way to make Arrows for growing kids, use broken Arrows or " bug out " Arrows if HRC wins in November... Please advise...

I started making my own strings a while back, endless loop at first but recently learned to do a flemish twist. Now I wonder if the look I can get with the endless loop is possible with a 3 bundle flemish twist. The look I am after is a thin "pinstripe" between a single or contrasting colors...

    Interesting. A great idea for a emergency use or a bugout bag . . . http://www.msn.com/en-ie/news/national/how-a-15-year-old%e2%80%99s-invention-is-saving-lives-on-the-streets-of-dublin/ar-BBopFbp 🏹 John

I am planning my vacation time out and need to figure days for archery tournaments. I have to decide whether I can make the IBO Western Trad shoot. It will depend on the length of the drive since that will determine the number of days that I have to take off. Has anyone heard which sites are...

I have nearly 800 posts and have been a member for over 10 years. I tried to start a thread about my two new-to-me risers and received a prompt that said my post had to be approved by a moderator. 2 of the 3 moderators for the forum haven't signed on in over a year. Any idea why this happened?

Hey guys, I just a had a idea, maybe a crazy idea... I have a old Ben Pearson cougar [email protected]" 62" amo in decent shape, except a slight limb twist in the bottom limb. I really have no plans to ever use it and it just collects dust in my bow closet. What if i cut the tips off and made it a...

Hi all, It seems we discuss speed, smoothness, etc of various bows quite a bit. I was shooting today and thought of a potential way to expand our database, and perhaps create a database and subforum/thread pertaining to this. Now, before I get started, I realize what I suggest would be...

Hey all, I've been trying to communicate with a place that I bought my limbs from in the past, but I don't know what is going on. Maybe they don't understand simple English or simple questions. I have asked 2 times now for a simple estimate on how much it would cost to ship a set of limbs...

I thought I would try his idea with silicon in the limb pockets on my Sky Hunter Supreme. It really does work. Filled the voids in the pocket with 100% silicon and let it dry. Took out all sound and vibration. Makes for a cheap set of limb savers. Sent from my RM-915_nam_usa_228 using Tapatalk

If you are really into technical details on how a how a recurve bow works read this article from 1980. They model a super recurve well beyond what currently exists (a half circle shape), note the DFC (b2) with an actual let off on page 14. Pretty cool. The math is crazy though (published in...

Since it is a requirement to have your finger against the nock for every shot in some competitions, is it legal to change your grasp on the string while keeping your finger against the nock from target to target? Say for instance, three under middle, three under index, and split middle to split...
