For some reason I get better groups with 45# than I do with 30#. I’m not sure if it’s a better release or what but I shoot much better with 40-45 than 30-35. Is there anything to this? Obviously I can shoot much longer with lighter poundage limbs but I just couldn’t figure why this happens. I’m...

Went shooting for the first time in 2 weeks and something is really off. Shot 20 yards, 3 under, string walking, right hand. Arrows were grouping tight but it always landed 1-2" right of the of the center. I ended up cranking the plunger to full stiffness and the same result. I even moved my...

A slightly stiff arrow. Not real stiff but generally lands slightly nock rt. I seem to be able to group a slightly stiffer better. This is my conclusion after shooting several weeks alternating between 2 sets of arrows where one is just a touch stiff. Just curious.

Do you normally get together at shoot times and decide to shoot all 40 on Saturday or what? I'm in Longbow class with Calvin, Dave , Leroy and the rest and this is my first time doing all 3 legs. Also my brother missed Bedford, shot Erie and will be at 3rd leg, does he just jump in with the rest...

My backyard range is only 15 yards long. Even with a glove..... pulling arrows, clustered together, is a PITA. So I now paint a line down the middle of the target and vertically string my arrows. Yes ..... I'm weak and puny but am having fun. ;) Dots are another solution. A neighbor, unfamiliar...

I'm shooting my first competition this weekend. Not sure what association it is but it is 14 2D targets and 14 3D targets out to 50 meters (I think). As my distance increases my arrows are moving to the left. at 13 yards they are slightly right then slowly start to shift left. From 20 to 35...

I had a long Skype chat with a buddy of mine from back home at the weekend. He is a high ranking IFAA and other federations Barebow shooter, mostly field but still plenty of 3D. He uses a deep hook super curve limb for 3D but a conventional profile wood core limb for field. In his opinion the...

I'm starting to get semi-repeatable groups at 10 yards: I'm putting the point right on the center yellow, then dropping it down to black.

Haven't shot groups for a long time, so after getting my longbow all tuned up yesterday I wanted to see how it was grouping at 40 yards. This is the best I could do out of about 10 rounds. I had a few groups with some pretty good fliers, but I was able to keep it together for this group. I Love...

I have gone over and over the aiming stuff and so I tried it today with some success. I still think alot of my problem is just my friggin eyesight. So today I just shot the bale way for about 15 minutes - slowwwwwwwwwwwwly making sure my form was consisitant (all tt stuff). Then I started...

Specs; Saluki Ibex, 62", [email protected] GT 3355 (full length), 145 gr. points, 3x5 shields The shafts fly well -- no kick, no wobble, no fishtail, no porpose. They group, too -- nice and tight with feathers touching. I mean really beautiful groups time after time. The problem is that those groups are...

I ran outside with my DAS Hunter today to see how it was behaving. I've been shooting the Elite a lot lately. I set the poundage at 48lbs. at 29 1/2", so I could shoot my 460 redlines and set my brace height at 7 & 3/8". I installed a plunger and set the tip of the arrow to the left of the...

#1 I was shooting groups yesterday and came to this result: 10 yards, baseball size, right on target. 15 yards, baseball size and a lil to the right. 20 yards, basketball size, all over the place. I string walk, 40# bow, Easton Axis 500 shafts, 100 gn points, BW 3-under tab and shoot off the...

It's easy to flatter yourself by stating that your best groups are the same as your average groups. Likewise, there's a reason why most rifle testers in the magazines shoot only three-shot grops, instead of getting a background group of 30, 50 or 100 shots and then measuring the average. The...
