First off I am a good bit OCD and have a reconstructed draw side shoulder. 1. Purely Instinctive Shooting 20 years ago worked great in the yard out back. When I tried to shoot at a deer my OCD overwhelmed my "instinct" and I simply could not help but look at the arrow before I released. I...

I recently tried 3 under and gap shooting. I usually shoot split finger, split vision/instinctive. My gaps shooting 55#@30.5" with 534 grain carbon arrows and 3 under/gap with are as follows: 5 yrds -2" under, 10 yards - point on, 15 yrds - 3" over, 20 yrds - 5" over, 30 yrds - 10" over. With...

I am new to arrow making and am having trouble getting good contact between my 4" feather fletching and my wooden shaft. I have a Bitzenburger jig with a right hand clamp and 11/32 wood arrows with 4" right hand shield fletchings. I am placing the fletchings into the jig with maybe a 1/16 -...

i dislike gap shooting. going from 3 under to split i have a 20 inch gap at first. i find stacking my aim is difficult too today i noticed that instead of gapping 20 inches i can use my shelf for my elevation and string walk my gap away. i used this today from 33-40 yds and it worked . IE. for...

Hey everyone, first time poster here. This might sound amateurish but I just want to know how people deal with this. I shoot a recurve 3 under, anchor corner of mouth/back of jaw and I'm pretty consistent with my form. I know my eye isn't in line with the arrow which means if I aim with the...

http://www.lancasterarchery.com/bateman-2tcd-finger-tab.html Been shooting my favorite Safari Tuff tab for a long time now. My wandering mind was curious if changing to a tab with a spacer would make gaps smaller. I was curious if anyone had ever tried it. Obviously still shoot the tab with...

Awhile back I read a book titled "Field Archery and Bowhunting" it was published in 1963 in the heyday of field archery. The authors had covered about pre draw/post draw gap system etc. I was wondering if any here are familiar with this method or have used it themselves and what do think of it.

Hello guys. Im new to the forum so if we havent interacted before, HELLO. My question is about your nock height. I am a straight gap shooter and I recently added a feather rest to my shelf which has raised the arrow and shrunk my gap. This is great at 20 yards and under because my gap is like...

Anyone here shoot split gap? Trying to teach myself and having trouble. I shoot well with just snap shooting.... but want to get way more consistent. I have watched the Clay Hayes videos on YouTube and the helped.... but my gaps are way backwards of what he shows. I.e. at 5 yards he is about 12...

Gentlefolk?...I wanted to get the opinions of some of the more experienced here regarding an event I experienced while participating in a 900rd this last weekend. I shot this same 900rd 2 months ago with my 66"/38# Tempest BB rig that is spitting my 330gr/8.7gpp VAP V1's out at 204fps where I...

Where to begin? It has been a couple of years since I was able to shoot. I live in the Philippines now and finally discovered a place to shoot and was introduced to the Philippine Barebow Archers Association, which I joined. I immediately ordered a DaLaa from 3Rivers along with a quite...

I am a 3D shooter. Not hunting at all. Some small amount of target shooting. Someone I trust old me that if I get a heavier draw-weight bow, my gaps will shrink. I did not have time to ask more questions...so here I am now. When I shot a 25# bow, my point on was 20 yards. I swapped (Samick...

Anyone out there good at gap shooting? I have a bit of a set up question. Taking a break from shooting heavy English longbow due to elbow issues and wanting to gap shoot barebow, currently shooting my beginner bow which is #24 and is great up to around 25 yards then dies a death, on the 40 yard...

If you know your gaps for each distance, couldn't gap-shooting be just as accurate as stringwalking? If so, the additional benefit would be having a correct tune for all distances. (Since there are so many stringwalkers out there, I am prepared to be educated.)

Hi everybody. With my target bow I shoot carbon arrows with 60 grains field tips. I added some top hat arrow stoppers to the end when shooting outside. I have lost too many arrows under the grass. I fount that flight wasn't really impaired, but the arrows ended up lower. I had to aim high. This...

I gap at the target and have been able to achieve good (for me) groups at 30 yards and under. For my bow/shooter combo, my gap at 20 yards is around 22"-24" so it is manageable, but I'd like to focus more on learning to gap at the bow. What are some suggestions on doing this? By suggestions...

Just entertaining the thought of trying to gap shoot. My question is if your shooting all summer with field points, when you move to shooting broadheads they are longer than your field points. what do you do to overcome the length difference of the two?
