I'm new to this forum so please scold me if this post is in the wrong area. I'm looking for the best Bowyers to follow to learn the fine art of making traditional bows. Thanks in advance for any recommendations.

I've been working with my arrows shortened to 28" for field shooting. They are GT .600 with 75 gr points. I'm now getting a 40 yard point on with my normal anchor with 3 under and 55 yards+ with split finger. I did this by working on expanding my draw. I scrounged a skinny VAP .700 skinny...

For my next bow I am leaning toward the Australian made Norseman Fury longbow. This is a half inch string follow bow that is said to be smoother drawing, very accurate, and very stable. Sounds just the ticket for somebody building up their draw weight to heavier bows. In this case 70lbs. I've...

Prior to season I asked how everyone treats heads to preserve the edge. Joe P suggested Sentry TUF-GLIDE. I have hunted with the double bevel Grizzly heads treated with Sentry this season. I've hunted in rain, hot and cold temps. I have pulled and reloaded the same arrow many times. The...

The question posed: Moose they shooting Recurves and Modern longbows together as one grouping in IBO this year? Saw something in rules as I breezed thru it. Not for anything but it was in there somewhere? Shawn, In the 2016 Traditonal Worlds IBO Rules, the most current to my knowledge...you...

When shooting. I am noticing my bow arm pulls to the left. After the release. I am also having a lot of left misses. I have watched several videos. And from what I can tell. Most of the guys bow arms are staying straight out front. What can I be doing to cause this??...Or am I doing as I...

It seems that Samick/Tradtech have discontinued the TradTech line, except for the BlackMax (which I have currently as backup). No more high-end version. I'm looking for longs, and I will put them on a TradTech Titan 19", for a 64" bow length. I'd like them as plain as possible (no flashy...

My Christmas and Birthday gift to myself is a W&W RCX-17 and a set of Uuka UX100 Curve limbs. This was well worth the wait as this combo is excellent in every way. The grip is a nice big chunk of laminated wood that lends itself to customizing quite well. While tuning the bow I also tuned the...

I have been reviewing the great advise on here about back tension and follow through. As I was shooting this evening it occurred to me that I essentially pluck the string, then put my hand on my shoulder, because that's how it's supposed to look when you finish the shot. Except I realized I was...

i was brainstorming today and remembered that one of my friends whose a bowyer all his self bows have 2-3" of string follow in it so i was wondering if i put one in a bowpress(i own one) and crank it down ever so slightly and let it sit in the press removing the string follow and adding a tad...

Interesting little tidbit of info,,,,,,,,,,,,The Follow Through is maintaining the position of the bow arm on release until the arrow hits the target. As the arrow slides along the arrow rest any movement of the bow will move the arrow. The position of the head and body should remain steady...

Have a look at these videos. Notice the arrow is gone the release hand hardly moves. After a millisecond the follow thru starts.

Hey guys I'm new to the site so sorry if I've posted on the wrong thread. I've been shooting my new recurve bow, it's a grizzly 55#@28" and when I shoot it seems my follow through is awful. I can't keep my bow from pivoting forward when I shoot, its like the top of the bow lurches downward when...

On a VIP we have here!!!!!! Yes a Sage lefty riser was donated for the giveaway. If, I remember correctly, Jim Preece donated the riser and Willie won it in the draw. Willie wanted it given to "OUR" VIP, Miss Olivia Potter. Well it is almost done to ship her way. I will post a picture of this...

For those of you who make endless strings, how much longer do you make the string, to allow for twisting than you want the finished string length? For example if you want a 60" string, do you make the string 60 1/2" then twist X number of times to get 60"?
