I just finished my Ben Pearson "Warf" inspired "Hybrid Recurve" .As you can see by the pic the riser has a deep center shot. There is two shelves. The plunger, site ,rest hole is above the top shelf. The riser was orig.set up with an over-draw plate and two prong rest. I would like to install an...

I've recently acquired a warf and really like it. This is my first experience with an elevated rest. Is it advantageous to put an elevated rest on a wood riser? If so, what rest would you recommend (particularly for hunting)? I have a Great Plains one-piece and takedown.

Can you cant a bow while shooting with an elevated rest? Seems this might change the point of impact.

If I go from shooting my Dalaa off the shelf to an elevated rest will I need to adjust the tiller? Also would like opinions on how much your arrow flight/shooting improved when you switched to the rest. Are you a lot more accurate or does it just make it easier to tune your bow? Did your 300...

I was thinking of trying an elevated rest and having my new Silvertip bow tillered for it (I have the option of the bow coming with either shelf material or an elevated rest) and shooting vanes. I use the tip of my arrow to aim, so having the arrow close to my hand should not be an issue. Would...

if you were setting up a light draw hunting bow (sky supreme hunter 45#@28") what rest would ya use. do ya use a different rest for target only, hunting only and target/hunting. the springy rest with plunger has been my favorite (and most hated) rest for years. I hate it cause it is sometimes...

Elevated rest with plunger 1. Shelf rest 0. Shelf rest is the loser this day for me. I bought my 2nd Quinn used and it came with what looks like a seal skin rest with a velcro side plate. I shot it like that for a while. It shot pretty good. I would really have to watch myself and have...

Hi all. This is the first question I'm posting here at this site. I have been shooting recurves and longbows for some 20 odd years. Just purchased a new Hoyt Gamemaster. Wow do I like this thing. Anyway since this is the first bow I ever owned that has inserts in it for such things like sights...

I just received my Quinn Stingray with the Stallion limbs and am shooting with an elevated rest for the first time since the late 60's. Boy, am I getting good arrow flight, but I am also grouping consistently into a small area about 4" high at 20 yards. I wonder if my eye is misreading the...

There is a small thread on the Lwall about how to set up a plunger. Some guy responded with these comments. I thought them funny, and figured to pass them along. "You mean it's okay to shoot an elevated rest and plunger? Rules were changed to allow their use at our club and people went...

If shooting off an elevated rest, can I use vanes? If so, what are the advantages/disadvantages of using vanes over feathers. Thanks

I got my Quinn Stallion for Christmas. I immediatley put on my MM string, set a nock, and stuck on the rest that came with it. I really enjoyed shootin it, and really like how it can fit into that little box when broken down. We were packing it pretty tight in my wife's car, and my 64" one...

Do any of you use a elevated rest on a long bow? any problems with doing this? I have tried it and can't see any ill effects and I like to shoot vanes so it seems to work, what do you think. Jordan

I have been shooting off the shelf for about 3 years, but am considering getting a quinn stallion for Christmas, and also am considering using some type of elevated rest. Can you successfully shoot vanes from an elevated rest? I cant my bow when I shoot, will that have any effect while using a...

Ive been going on the info. that if your right handed and your arrow hits to the right then its weak/left stiff. I read on another forum where a guy says just the opposite so which is correct? Also on a screw in adj. elev. rest to move your point of impact to the left would you move the rest to...

I posted this on another forum awhile back, but have been asked about it once more. The rest is made from what is called a clip-strip, that is used in retail stores to hang products to sell. There are several types and the one I have is fairly thick and works well. Check with local...

Efford to discard it. I came back to be a comitted self certain bow-shooter. Elevated rest discarded. After having flyers only I threw off the plastic rest. The first shot was 'unclear', it did not hit the 20 yds target (low), second 5 mm below, third full hit. Center of intended cap of...

I put a elevated rest on one of my Sterling T/D recurves, it has the insert already there in riser. I have some old Bear Cedar arrows that came with a old Brown Bear bow that I traded for and they are just as straight as any aluminum that Ive ever spun, zero vibration even with 160 gr. Snuffers...

I just got back from the Ky Klassic and had a great time. This was probably the first trad shoot I've been to in a long time that I saw other shooters, although not many, shooting off an elevated rest. Also, this was the first shoot in a long time that I shot from an elevated rest. I had 2...
