  1. Special Projects
Hi All, Wanted to share a DIY project I finished a few months back. Made two 3 Under tabs for myself using some hybrid resin slabs. Including some pics and a .jpg with cutlines if anyone is interested in making their own. Have a good day all.

Recently finished this ILF riser for a good mate. It's easily achievable. Hope it might inspire some to have a go at creating one for yourself or deserving others! :)

Ok I was hesitant in posting this. But here goes. I picked up a Diamondback venom longbow 58 inch. 46 lb. Pretty good shooter. Well long story short I've always wanted a two piece. So here goes. The bow was $180 , $6 in hardware, still need to get inner tube for roll up grip. Couple days of...

As an experiment, can you make a DIY bow out of a few fiberglass rebars and some duct tape in 5 minutes? Yes, you can! And it is awesome! You can shoot it at the shooting range or even go hunting! An easy project for fans of archery and DIY. Don't forget about safety measures though.

I have tried to make a bow out of a skateboard. Skateboard decks are made of maple plywood sheets put together under the pressure of 40 something tons. Exactly what we need. And at the end we, of course, will do some testing.

I had a thread in the main forum trying to find a company to strip powder coating off of a riser, camo dip the riser and cerakote a few parts. I had found one and asked about them in that thread. I received other recommendations. It was hard communicating with the companies I tried to talk to...

Didn't know the the place to ask, but Special Projects seems reasonable. Anyway I'm trying to come with a way to make my own DAS limb inserts. To that end I'm searching for female threaded brass tubing and need specs for the thread pitch, exterior diameter and interior as well. Thanks! Steve

Is it possible to make takedown limbs from one piece of wood, or are the stresses too much? I made a riser and some limbs to tiller to about 45#, and snapped two pairs of limbs. Is this even possible, or am I just making the limbs too short for what I am asking them to do? They are 27 inches...

After roughing out plates awhile back for my Spectra I decided to make a new set, but with a little better finish. Not that it matters too much since the ones I made before work great. I had a little extra time since we are off for Thanksgiving break, and this has been in the back of my mind...

It's time to start getting broadheads centered up and flying true. I'm working on devising a simple way to make a spin tester to get those broadheads concentric. Has anyone got a clever way of making up a spin tester system?

Hello, this is my first post to tradtalk. I hope to find the linen string to build up a bowstring that was common in the early 50's, that would be plausible to pair with a '54 Kodiak2. I figure it would be linen. In the 50's my family made our own stings by buying pre-made single-loop strings...

I'm sure that some of the info here is well known to many of you, but being a relative newbie, I had to learn it all on my own. In my last thread, I showed my conversion project for a Bear Black Panther. The rest that came with it was a whisker biscuit, and just didn't work very well. Taking a...

There was a thread I think on the warfing wall that Sam Dunham was doing about making plays with hand tools. It has disappeared or I can't find it anymore. Anyone know where it went?

I am going to make a handful of Formaster for an archery class I am teaching, I found http://tradtalk.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=307&stc=1&d=1115175360 I vaguely remember something slightly different when I took the Rod Jenkins Clinic. IN any case it should be simple enough to...
