There was a time when I used to love the challenge of shooting groundhogs long range with a rifle but a bigger thrill has always been sneaking up on them and shooting them with my recurve

When talking with bowyers about making wooden bows, the optimum moisture content of the stave or billet is often discussed. The general consensus seems to be a moisture content of around 12% gives the best results for most bow woods.

I've been using felt furniture pads on my Titans with very good success but I will admit that I thought they looked a bit jenky on the beautiful machined risers ........ But still they worked
Now apparently some organizations if you compete will not allow you to use them because they are soft...

When I received my CH it had 56 pound limbs on it and it was incredible
It hit like a 65 pound recurve
So I thought and with some urging of some very good shooters I respect I would try a tad lighter
So I ordered up,a set of 52 pounders

I had an idea about leaving it on the ground when I'm in a tree or on a Tri pod in the back of a blind or positioned near a trail and activating it with the remote when a deer etc. comes along

Ok - so received my Elite this week and finally got to shoot it today (in torrential rain). It is not a bad bow to shoot... ;)
Messed around for about 3 hours with the BH - change it, shoot a few arrows etc and got it about as quiet as I could at somewhere around 8 1/4". As a bare bow, however...
