I received a Tamerlane from my Brother in law recently. Very nice bow but it is extremely noisy. I have changed the brace height from 8" to 9.25" and no change. It is 69" long with a draw weight of 49# @ 31". does anyone know what the brace height should be. Thanks!

I am curious as to when buying a new bow how many consider what brace height is a deal breaker for a longbow.

I may have egg on my face if someone can tell me where this is in the manual, but I can’t find a brace height recommendation in the DAS Tribute manual. Setting mine up with Dryad LBX limbs. Anyone know where I can find a brace height table? Or know the recommended range? Also, anyone else...

I have a Keshes recurve takedown 62" #40 that I bought when I decided to get back into Archery. I appears to be a "knock off" of a Samick Sage 62" recurve takedown. I've put a lot of arrows downrange with it in the last 4 months, and it's worked out great. Here's my question: In all the...

I was looking at the UK Mybo Pathefinder - a minimalist riser with a lot of deflex. http://www.ilovemybo.com/pathfinder-field-bow/ With the deflex, the specs are saying the BH will be 8.5" to 9.25" on a 19" riser. I draw 27" and most of my ILF setups with medium limbs on 19" risers, my BH...

:deadhorse I know, I know, another dead horse, but gleaning bits and bobs from the Net, I came up with the following: "If your arrow is acting stiff, raise the brace height. A higher brace height will slightly slow the arrow due to the reduced power stroke." Given: a non-ILF recurve bow...

What is the recommended brace height for the DAS Elite? DAS Kinetic doc states 7.5" to 8" for a 62" bow, but that is from the Gen 1 documentation. My Gen 1 is set at 7.5" on a 64". I assume 7.5" would be good on the Elite 64" bow also. Thanks Gil

According to his test with one bow, there was no significant change in arrow velocity, even with a large change in brace heights. I cannot help but wonder if he might have had a different conclusion from testing more than one bow.

After a 6 month break from shooting due to a shoulder injury, I started shooting again this week. I have a new pair of Border Hex 7.2 longs that I needed to set up. I recorded some of my findings and thought I would share them here, since people are always trying to figure out string length...

Hi friends of the Damon Howatt Hunter. I bought one not long ago second hand and tried to find out the best brace height. My Hunter (build 1998, with fast flight tips): 62" bow, 50 lbs "on fingers", 29.5" draw length. I tried BH between 6 3/4 and 7 3/4". The sound of the bow does not seem to...

Hi, I just received an awesome warfed Bear Kodiak riser from treehermit (thanks Tom) and have a string question. What length string should I get? The riser is about 21" and I have some cheaper Galaxy recurve limbs (longs). I put a 60-1/2"string that I have on it and the brace height was...

If You have riser and limbs of two different makers , what value is more important to adjust brace height, from riser maker or from limbs maker? Let's say - limbs BH 7.5"-8.75" and riser 9"-9.75".

Is there a formula or calculation to work out the proper brace height for ILF set ups? Something based off riser length/limb length perhaps?

I recently picked up a soft brace for my shoulder to cushion the bouncing when I run (AC joint still quite tender) and also to protect it once I'm permitted to start bicycling again. The brace is made by a mountain biking company (EVS, very well known) and designed to limit movement that can...

Just wondering what brave height you are running with the 25” G1 and long limbs? I am running around 9 and 5/8” most of the time, but have gone to 9 3/4” A’s well and it seems best around this range of numbers. Seems to degrade in performance around 9 1/2” and below. More vibration and less...

I purchased a CD WF 19 riser and recently bought long limbs to make a 64 inch bow. How do you determine what the brace height should be. Can this information be found somewhere online. I also bought a endless string whereas I am used to a Flemish string.

I think the brace height on the Border Hex 7.5 ILF Longs are recommended not to exceed 7”. I have my Hex’s mounted on my 17” Morrison riser pulling about 54# at 29”. They are louder than I’m comfortable hunting with without raising the BH higher than 7”. Does anyone know why BH is not to...
