I ran into some problems a while back after gluing my fletches directly to some Easton FMJ's bare shafts with Lockite 401 super glue. I found out about it the hard way when a loose 4 inch fletch almost completely imbedded itself into the back of my bow hand when shooting at the range one day. On...

So what the oveall consensus on these? ...filter all this with these will be for hunting and shooting the bag for hunting practice. 38-48lb bow, 30" draw. I've been shooting the GT's and they seem pretty durable. I don't care for the raspy noise on the draw though. I also do not care for...

Would like to hear any success stories and or comments good and bad regarding the FMJ's. I've heard they can bend due to the aluminum but also that they can take some good hits. I've broken many a Goldtip. Went to Dan Toelkes shop a month ago and he gave me an Axis carbon to try out. Love it. I...

As much as I tried to put off buying new arrows, I found myself buying 2 dozen .400 spine Axis trads for use with my Covert Hunter. I normally use .500 spine, but this bow just needs a stiffer shaft. I noticed the Axis shafts use the HIT system. This will be my first time using this insert...

Trying some Axis 600 shafts that santa got me.The inserts are the brass 50/75 nock off inserts.I snapped off 25 making them 50 I didn't want the added weight.I tried one first with Loctite gel superglue, with 100 gr. points I liked how they flew. After doing some search here I tried screwing my...

I have always shot arrows in the 500 spine and always felt they were a little stiff even with a lot of weight up front. So I picked up a dozen of the new Axis Trads in a 600 spine. So this is how I tune new arrows I always cut the fletching off of one to use as a bare shaft. I like the quill to...

Just a heads up to everyone who may have these arrows. Check your arrows to see if they are within the designated lot numbers from Easton. Here's the Consumer Product Safety Commissions notice from today. http://www.cpsc.gov/en/Recalls/2013/Axis-Arrows-Recalled-by-Easton/ Consumer...

So I heard people use Rage 40KE mechanical broadhead (specifically designed for low poundage bow) with good results and I'm thinking about trying it. I never thought of shooting a mechanical broadhead with a recurve but I'll try anything for a better blood trail. Problem is they only come in 100...

My goal is to fine one arrow (with differnet broadheads) that will shoot out of my 55 lb recurve and my 53 lb Omega longbow. That turns out to be a full length 300 axis on stu millers calc. All of my arrows to this point tuned to any where from 29-30 inches. I shoot the recurve on an elevated...

Got my dozen Easton Axis STs today and my fletchings shipped out today. Got them in a 400 spine, managed to get a the 4 I bought previously to fly well. My shooting has been halted by a snow storm though. To afraid I'd lose an arrow, I'm a tight-wad like that. Here are a few pics for fun...

I bought(impulse purchase) a half dozen Axis Full Metal Jacket arrows the other day. Anybody got any experience with these? I have shot the Axis arrow for many years but never these aluminum wrapped carbon FMJs. I like them so far. What are their advantages and disadvantages? Thanks in advance. :-)

Hello I would like to get some advise tunning these arrows. The arrow spine is 400 cut at 32 inch. My draw lenght is around 30.5 and shooting a Hoyt Dorado with TT limbs 50#. I cannot get the arrows to fly straight. The arrows fly with the tail left. Just imagine how an arrow flies and the...

I have a dozen (less the one I lost) Axis 340s for when I was shooting heavier (65 &+) bows. I'm now using lighter weight bows (45-50) and shooting 400 spine arrows. While I have never been a convert to the heavyheadweight school; I am curious if these arrows would be usable with my lighter...

Does anyone know where I might be able to obtain the limb bushings to convert ILF limbs to the Hoyt Axis hardlock system? I am in the UK so anyone who will post/ship here. Just recently picked up my recurve again and like the Hoyt Axis handle so was thinking of throwing some different limbs...

My hunting buddy has a new Widow SA 50#@28" He wants to know if Axis 400s or maybe MFX 400s can be made to spine correctly without TOO MUCH weight up front. I am posting for him cause I respect the high tech advice here and open minded level of competence. He wants to stay with skinny carbons...
