Black Bear: My Warf Project (wasStripping and Adjusting the balance?) The Black Bear riser I have is really chipped, and I would like to refinish it to get rid of the deep chips in the paint. What is the most effective way to strip it? Is it Aluminum, or Magnesium? The second question is if...

I have just acquired a Win & Win Black Wolf ILF bow. NICE! I purchased it from Lancaster Archery and have asked them this question but they don't have an answer. The bow has 50lb. limbs which I have cranked down to increase the weight slightly for tuning purposes. I don't have a bow scale so I'm...

Hi all - my RCX 17 just arrived and I mounted my TT Blackmax Carbon Woods. Mounting is fine, but I can only turn out maximum 1.5 turns. Otherwise the limb can't seem to pivot enough to make contact with the tiller bolt. Do I need longer detente assembly? Or is something else going on? I'm...

Well, here is one for you experts. I have a takedown, wooden limb, and a solid phenolic riser. The limbs just bolt on. I have been shooting the limbs for about 10 years, and the riser is relatively new, been shooting it for about a year. The arrows I shoot are ACC 3-18 Anyways, this evening...

adjusting tiller? I have a Pinnacle II and shoot three fingers under. The directions say to set an even tiller. What difference would I feel if the tiller was either slightly positive or negative? I don't know if I would be able to tell the difference even if I knew what I was looking for.

Do you adjust the limbs while strung, much as you would a compound? Or do you unstring the bow for each adjustment?

Hey TT, I just got a new flemish string in the mail today, and it seems to be a little shorter than what I'd ordered as is;~57 1/4" instead of 58", and consequently the brace height is a bit too high. However, when I tried twisting the string (untwisting I guess) to elongate it, the braids in...

In going through my arrow shaft collection I find that I have a significant number of old AFC skinny-shafts in the .2560 (based on diameter not deflection) version. I have also been shooting the beman/easton HIT system shafts in .400 with 125 tips for years. I have some in .340 that I used...

Just wondering if there is an "optimum" setting for my DAS Master. I have short limbs and draw 27". Where will I optimize the performance of the limbs? I have found it most comfortable to shoot with 2 full turns out on the limb bolts. Just wondering if I drop to say a 2# lighter limb, with the...

Many of you may already know that about 6 months ago, after fighting target panic for 30 years, I began a switch to shooting left handed (non-dominant side). I’m doing very well but have been pondering. For years I always shot bows in the 180 to 185 fps range, and MADE my point-on be 30 yards...

I have a Black Bear warfed riser by WARF, Quicks archery (Border?) limbs, and a 29.5" draw. The limbs are mediums and marked 40 lbs with a goal of achieving around 45# at my draw length with the possibility of going up a couple of pounds. The limbs haven't arrived yet but I was wondering about...

I have a gamemaster with hoyt vector limbs, DAS vibration dampeners, and longer bolts from DAS. Do you all think that it would safe to back out one limb bolt to achieve even tiller? I shoot 3 fingers under and prefer a bow with even tiller. From my expierience even tiller will really quiet a...

I finally got all the pieces for my Warf. I have a Jennings Black Lighting riser warfed by Mr Gordon. A set of KAP 36# carbon limbs from DAS. When I put the limbs on I tightened both bolts all the way down(did not torque them like mad or anything) as this is what I have to do on my other...

Guys I have a DAS bow that I presently shoot off the shelf. If I change to shooting with a plunger and flipper type rest will I have to adjust the tiller since the arrow will be raised perhaps a quarter inch?

I'd really like some pointers on how to make adjustments to either my Bear Blacktail Hunter ( I don't see any adjustments on it), or my brand new Bear Magnum Hunter. I'm shooting through lots of cardboard and busting right through new 1/2 inch plywood. I don't think I need that much power to...
