Murtha was a Vietnam vet so I honor him for that, but he was also a crooked politico.

Before he laid the groundwork for a "slow bleed" of U.S. troops in Iraq, Rep. Jack Murtha (D-PA) agreed to do business with a fictitious Arab sheik whom Murtha thought was trying to bribe him. Murtha avoided prosecution for his role in the ABSCAM scandal by testifying against other Democrat Congressmen who'd taken the bribes. See more Murtha at http://jackmurtha.blogspot.com .

And here's how Jack honored our constitution and democracy.

Terrible fella!!!!!! Makes me wonder what reality guys like this were living in. No Honor, No sincere Patriotism, No manners or respect towards Valor or that of the "American Spirit"! Lets all hope his family and Children are better people than him. If I was not so respectful, even to my enemies, I would go piss on his grave!

Sam, you could just mail it to slick willie, it looks like he might be seeing ol' Murtha before long... that would be too bad, who else is there to lead fundraisers for the far left if he dies ?

I know Papa and I both were ripping on him in this forum when he was alive. Although not clear on what your point was to be honest.

i call BS. REAL vultures don't wait for the body to cool. they just don't want it to still be kicking... i'm SURE that Democrats privately were saddened when Nixon passed away...right? or were there exultations of victory delayed "well, Tricky Dick burns in hell TONIGHT! WOOOOO!"

It means that it is very bad form to talk this way right after someone dies, unless they were actual wanton psychopaths. Murtha may have had his faults, but he didn't belong to this category. What you are reveling in is called schadenfreude, an ugly emotion for which there is no direct English translation. Typical religious right wing hypocrisy. But this set isn't exactly known for self-knowledge.

By painting a counter-group with a broad brush you concoct your excuse. Hopefully, if an responsible adult hears a child talk the way you guys do, they are reprimanded.

i need no excuse. he was a SWINE, as was nixon. there is no "counter-group", i hate ALL swine. he gets no more respect from me in death than he got while alive, as in none. i give him respect for serving in our armed forces honorably, nothing else. responsible, me? debatable. adult ? also debatable. glad he is gone ? you betcha...i won't shed any tears over ANY politician that puts the wants of his or her party ahead of the needs of this country or it citizens. neither far-left nor far-right need to be looking for any mercy. death alone does NOT let a despot off of MY hook... i DO feel sorrow for his family, at the loss of what they no doubt thought was a good, honorable man. i simply disagree with their assessment of him, & posted such here in our "political soapbox". go look elsewhere for sympathy. you know where it is in the dictionary, no ?
