Once again, its that time of year. I've scrimped, scraped and cubbyholed all my loose change, and it looks like this year Ill be able to go after some Blackbuck, maybe an Audad (Ugly Bastards) or a red stag on top of the usuall hogs.
Im really looking forward to this trip because I feel that my archery has improved about 10 fold from last year (Thanks in part to y'all, cept boho, never listen to boho).
Anyways, It will be almost like you guys are goin with me cause Ill be using equipment that ive traded with you guys and shooting the lights out again with all the knowledge I've picked up here from all of you. Kinda nice, huh?
Thats all I have to say for now. Just wanted to brag and boast a bit. LOL. Mike

Its worth noting that the last picture was taken at about midnight on the last night. We were driving around looking for the spot where one of our friends who is a "Professional Guide" shot his pig. Never did find that one did we guys. LOL.

Mike,
Id like to take the Protec, but Its shootin too good to chance messin it up. Besides its tuned for those sub 300 grain arrows and as much as id like to test the "light arrow theory", shootin hogs with 12 dollars arrows isnt fiscally responsible.
The Darton Avalanche will make the trip as my "backup/reality check/man i guess i do suck" bow. Right now im playing around with that PSE Silverfox riser and Hoyt fx limbs- they net about 62 pounds and is very smooth, but its serious overkill. I got a Brand Spankin new Jenings Black Lightning riser and put the PSE zone limbs on it it nets sub 50 lbs and shoots great, it feels like it weighs about 2 pounds less then the protec so Im giving it serious thoughts. Lotsa choices and decisions to make in the next couple weeks.
I did however get some Carbon Revolutions on clearance for 2 bucks a pop, so Irregardless of what bow I take they will be "closing the deal". I just need to figure out if these WW are gonna be big enough or if I need to step up into the Magnus snuffers. Actually if anyone knows how to attach a camp spade to the end of a carbon arrow, Please let me know. Sometimes I feel like that might be the "ultimate two blade" for these pigs.

Mike--from what I've personally witnessed, [IMHO] you can leave the wheel bow "locked in the truck". where'd you get the $2 carbons?

LOL. Youll be locking the compound up too here before long.
I got the arrows at Ohio Valley Trade. Seems as though the manufacture's fletching glue wasnt up to snuff and the fletching fell off a bunch. Imagine my dismay. LOL.

OH YEA!!!!! We 're gonna have some big fun in Texas this year !!! Oinkers ,Aoudad ...keeping thisducks4U straight (almost endless task)I'm more excited this year more than ever.My Trad shooting has improved imensely.I had a terrible white tail season. I have been shooting only a longbow for the last year and 3 months so no training wheels are going with me this year (didn't take one last year either!) I have a new Savnnah that I love to shoot...along with my Sabinal custom LB, Arrow Dynamics Trads with magnus 2 blades that are razor sharp.I even have a few woodies with some BIG Snuffers to test. I wish we werte leaving TODAY!!! Oh well the 13th is not that long to wait.We will keep you informed as to our sucess on the senderos...Hey Mike you gonna try to blunt that Buffalo into submission again? MEOWWWWWWWW! Sean.

I would also like to add that TD4U needs to take a compound about as much as he needs another hole in his head but hey stick'n pigs is stick'n pigs right? :shooting: Another thing you guys talking about the money aspect of this trip to Texas and wanting to go.This really is a budget hunt with the 7 or 8 who ride together I would say it costs me no more than $700.00-$800.00 total for this hunt to DRIVE from Ohio to Texas ,hunt, eat ,buy gas and whatever else you might need ....Oh I almost forgot better figger $35.00 for the strongest DEET spray you can find!!!Right Mike ! (aka CHIGGER BAIT)The Chiggers really like Mike .I think the chiggers plan their Thanksgiving dinner around Mikes arrival in Tx every year.I only hope we don't have any "Professional Guides" again this year .Later Sean. PS the picture does not do me any justice at all. :D

You spend that much??
I take 5 total and always have some left over. You must be sneekin into town with Juan after lights out. Hey Im hopin that the month earlier trip will allow us to evade them damn chiggers this time. Im tired of itching my arse off, and lookin like I banged on some cheap senoritas south of the border. Im takin a couple gallons of colloidal silver, some witch hazel and my last batch of GI issue deet. I dare them little bastards to naw on me this time. Its on!!!!!!!

Mike congrats on the OBA shoot . bout what I expected from our league Champ.I shoulda went with you but I had to support my club at the Round Robin shoot.Although it sucks shooting with all the s l o o o o w w w compound shooters. Yes I added alittle extra $s to the estimate just because but you are correct $500.00 - $600.00 can get the fun started.

What's that for, pouring onto the hogs wound so it won't get infected? More likely a cure against something you might pick up on your nightly expeditions to some bordello south of the border. That's OK Mike, if you don't have any hunting stories and pics, manly stories are just as entertaining. :)

Not only is it one of the best anti bacterial agents known to man, It is also an excellent scent sheild. Alot of Human Odor is created by bacterial respiration, get rid of the bacteria, get rid of the odor. This in combination with Borax and baking soda makes some of the best scent elimination solution money cant buy.
All this and it also keeps them chigger bites from getting infected. When or if you get chigger bites by the thousands, keepin infection down is good.
