“Truly I say to you this generation will not pass away until all these things be accomplished.” Mark 13.28
- I mean, we all know every one of those folk are dead by now, but the verses before this seem to talk about Jesus coming again before all of them had died. Not to be disrespectful, but did I miss something?

To understand this in its entirety, you must look at the entire chapter. I would point to two key verses to help you put the proper timeframe on the prophesy being made by Christ. First, look at verse 10:
10 And the gospel must first be published among all nations.
Even today the gospel has yet to be published amongst all nations. I believe we are getting very close, but we are not quite there yet.
And finally, look at verse 27:
27 And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.
This verse speaks of Christ's return in the air to Rapture His church. The dead shall rise first and those who remain living on the earth shall follow immediately thereafter.
In this prophesy, Christ was speaking of things that His desciples would experience in their lifetimes, future events, and near endtime events.

Context is the key to many parts of the bible. And to be honest I am guilty of not looking at verses in their true context. If you have ever been so blessed to have a pastor who sets the context of his sermon scripture it really opens gods word to you.
